Homemade blueberry liqueur

Homemade blueberry liqueur turns out to be moderately sweet, it goes well with dessert dishes and fruits. Making it is quite simple, just stock up on berries, vodka and sugar. We will consider the best recipe for this liqueur.

Need fresh, frozen or dried berries. First, they are sorted out, removing unripe, spoiled and moldy. Frozen blueberries are thawed and then allowed to drain. Dried berries are used about half as much as indicated in the recipe.

Ingredients:

  • blueberries – 300 grams;
  • cloves – 3 bud;
  • lemon – 1 half;
  • vodka (moonshine, alcohol 40-45%) – 300 ml;
  • sugar – 150 gram;
  • water – 150 ml.

Recipe

1. Pour the berries into a jar and crush with a rolling pin.

2. Remove the zest from half a lemon (the upper yellow part) without hitting the white bitter pulp.

3. Add cloves and lemon zest to the blueberry mass.

4. Pour in vodka (moonshine, alcohol), mix.

5. Close the jar tightly with a lid and transfer to a dark place at room temperature. Insist 14-16 days. Shake the contents of the jar every 3-4 days.

6. Filter the infusion through 2-3 layers of gauze, squeezing the pulp well.

7. Mix water and sugar in a saucepan, bring the mixture to a boil, boil for 3-4 minutes, removing white foam. Cool the finished sugar syrup to room temperature.

8. Pour blueberry infusion into sugar syrup, mix, close tightly with a lid and put in a dark place for 7-10 days. Shake every day.

9. The liquor is ready, it’s time to bottle it and seal it with corks. Shelf life 3-5 years.

The result is a homemade blueberry liquor with a strength of 16-18 degrees of a beautiful burgundy color with a taste and light notes of lemon.
