At least sometimes to work without leaving the threshold of their own home, many dream. But not everyone has the opportunity to allocate a place for themselves for a full-fledged office. Our designers were imbued with the problem and offered a choice of four options for arranging a home office. Choose the right one!

Project # 1. Double meaning

First, the living room was mentally divided into two functional zones, then for each of them a minimum of stationary furnishings were selected. The set for the living room included a three-seater sofa and a coffee table, there was enough rack for the study. By the way, to further emphasize the isolation of the workplace, a fragment of the wall behind the shelves was painted in a much brighter color. Ask – where are the other two pieces of furniture that are no less important for work? A table and a chair are also provided here, but due to their mobility, they can be used with equal success in both zones.

Project number 2. Maestro, curtain!

When equipping the living room, the designer provided not only the usual furnishings for this room, but also a wardrobe. Moreover, it is so capacious that it has enough space for storing things and for a home office. One section of the cabinet was completely given under it. If you repeat this experiment, keep in mind that the dimensions of the section are very important – after all, a work table with a tabletop at least 55 cm deep should fit freely in it. And another 10 cm will be needed so that the sliding doors move along the guides without interference.

Project number 3. Addition rules

This home office appears out of necessity, after a series of consecutive actions. First, the tabletop (for a significant part of the time it is folded and absolutely does not interfere with the traditional use of the living room) is raised and fixed with a support corner. Then a chair is turned to the table. That’s all – the office is ready! Please note: the table is attached directly to the wall, and therefore the level of the tabletop can be selected based on the height of the owners and the height of the seat.

Project number 4. In move
Design by Dmitry Uraev
For this work area to appear, the designer needed to come up with and make a piece of furniture. So, two not particularly high and deep floor cabinets were installed at some distance from each other and connected by a common top – a shelf suitable for placing books and other things related to work. And the working table was pushed into the resulting niche by about a third of the depth. Thanks to the wheels, it is easy to move it closer to the center of the living room, so that, complete with chairs, it forms a dining group.

This design is highly functional. The tops of the cabinets are convenient for organizing papers and books, while the back panels hide numerous cables leading to a desk lamp and laptop.
