Home Body Butter: A Simple Refrigerated Recipe
A simple recipe that will not only save your skin in winter, but also save you money.
Frost, temperature changes, dry indoor air – these are the “delights” of the approaching winter. During this period, it is more important than ever to pay special attention to the skin of not only the face, but also the body. Not every cream is able to properly moisturize the skin and saturate it with useful substances, so body oil comes to the rescue. Galina Fedenkova, dermatologist, naturopath, expert at the iHerb natural cosmetics and healthy lifestyle marketplace, told Wday.ru readers what it takes to make homemade body oil to maximize the benefits of your skin.
The basic principle when creating a body oil is that it should consist of a base, a solid or liquid base oil and an essential oil or vitamins. The great thing about home cosmetics is that you can customize the ingredients to suit your needs and preferences. You even choose the base of the body oil yourself. Favorite base oils – coconut, shea butter, apricot or almond oil.
Previously, coconut oil was difficult to find: it was considered an exotic product that can only be purchased in Thailand or India. But times have changed, and now there is coconut oil on store shelves at an affordable price. The benefits of this oil have been repeatedly confirmed by many experts: it protects against the effects of radicals and UV rays, deeply nourishes the skin and relieves inflammation. Although you can find fakes in stores, you can’t go wrong with the quality of the oil if you choose organic virgin.
Shea Butter rich in fatty acids, vitamins A and E. It stimulates collagen production and improves skin elasticity. This oil is ideal for people with sensitive and allergy-prone skin. Alternatively, you can mix coconut oil and shea butter together to increase the body butter’s benefits dramatically.
Almond и apricot oil can be purchased at beauty stores or aromatherapy stores. Both oil is considered massage oil – it nourishes and moisturizes the skin well, and when applied, it provides good gliding.
For homemade body oils, use natural, high-quality essential oils so your skin will receive more beneficial elements. Typically, 10 drops of essential oil per 100 ml of base oil are added to the body oil.
You can choose an essential oil according to your own feelings: if you need to cheer up, citrus essential oils are perfect, lavender essential oil will help to cope with sleep problems, and rosemary essential oil tones up.
