Situation in Montenegro – epidemic restored

In Montenegro, the number of COVID-19 infections has increased sharply. While in the area inhabited by less than 620 thousand On July 1, there were 576 cases of people in the country, two weeks later there were 1 cases in total. As of July 826, the total number of cases was 22 thousand. (2 new cases were reported on this day). Due to the increase in the incidence, the Montenegrin government has decided to reintroduce the epidemic (it is valid throughout the country). Recall that on June 2, the authorities in Podgorica decided that the coronavirus pandemic in their country had expired, but in mid-June a new infection was found again. Since then, the number of infections has increased, reaching the numbers mentioned above.

The Polish Embassy informs about the introduction of the epidemic in Montenegro on Twitter: «The increase in new COVID-19 cases is avalanche. We appeal for caution ».

On the government website dedicated to Montenegro, www.gov.pl/web/czarnogora, we read: «We would like to remind you that Montenegro has less than 620. inhabitants, and the number of active cases per 100 thousand. is 310 (as of 22.07.2020/XNUMX/XNUMX). Moreover, much higher mortality of infected people is observed. The country already has the worst situation in the entire regionmeanwhile, new infections are detected every day. We assess the tendency as increasing and with no chance for immediate improvement«.

Entry to Montenegro – on what terms

The declaration of an epidemic results in a number of restrictions. While from July 1, the borders of Montenegro were open to all EU residents, without restrictions (no tests or quarantine were required), now the situation has changed a bit.

According to the website of the Montenegrin government, a foreigner may enter this country under the following conditions:

No additional restrictions if it meets the following three conditions:

1. He is a resident of one of the countries of the “green list” or has stayed in a country on the “green list” at least 15 days before entering Montenegro.

2. If in the period from the 15th day before entering Montenegro until the date of entry he has not stayed in any of the countries not included in the “green list”.

3. He has not traveled to or through any of the countries not included in the “green list” except transit.

With a negative PCR, ELISA or ECLIA test for COVID-19that is 72 hours or less, if the person meets all three of the following conditions:

1. Is a resident of one of the “green” or “yellow list” countries (including Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Canada, Kosovo, Israel and Singapore) or has been in the countries on these lists for at least 15 days before entering Montenegro

2.If in the period from the 15th day before entering Montenegro until the date of entry, she has not stayed in any of the countries outside the above-mentioned lists

3. Has not traveled through any of the countries outside the Green and Yellow Lists, with the exception of transit.

The obligation to have a COVID-19 test does not apply to children under the age of five.

What are the restrictions in force in Montenegro itself?

In view of the restoration of the epidemic, the government reintroduced the obligation to wear masks, both indoors and outdoors – this also applies to children over seven years of age. Beaches and parks are excluded from this provision, provided that the principles of social distancing and the precautionary measures recommended in a given place are respected.

Assemblies are forbidden – outdoors for more than 40 people, indoors – for more than 20 (in the case of permitted assemblies, it is obligatory to maintain a social distance of at least two meters). The ban also applies to running discos, bars and nightclubs.

When it comes to bathing areas and beaches, entrepreneurs who provide services there are obliged to follow the rules contained in the Instruction of the Public Health Institute of Montenegro. Those who choose “wild” beaches must obey social distancing.

The Polish embassy reminds that “Montenegro is not a member of the EU, hence many procedures are more complicated. This also applies to possible evacuation and treatment ». The facility advises against traveling without KL insurance (medical cost insurance) and accident insurance.
