Hipp ORS 200 is a preparation to compensate for the deficiency of fluids and minerals in the course of diarrhea. The active substances of the drug are: potassium, glucose, sodium citrate, sodium. Hipp ORS 200 is recommended especially for children and infants who, due to e.g. diarrhea, are exposed to the risk of losing a large amount of fluids. The supplement is in the form of an oral rehydration fluid and is dispensed without a prescription.

SUBSTANCE Hipp ORS 200 contains: rice, glucose syrup, sodium chloride, water, carrots, sodium citrate, potassium citrate, citric acid. 100 ml contains: 4,2 g of carbohydrates, 0,3 g of protein, 0,1 g of fat, 1 g of fiber, 0,12 g of sodium, 0,098 g of potassium. Osmolarity 240 mOsmol / L, pH = 5,20

It works well especially for children and infants who have lost fluids during diarrhea. Hipp ORS 200 prevents dehydration by replenishing electrolytes.

Hipp ORS 200 is a dietary supplement taken in the case of:

1. rehydration – replenishing the deficiency of fluids and minerals in the initial 4-6 hours of diarrhea.
2. reimbursement – return to nutrition used before the onset of diarrhea, 4-6 hours after the onset.

Drug dosage

Hipp ORS 200 has the consistency of an oral fluid and should be used as directed. Exceeding the recommended daily dose may harm your life or health.

1. mild diarrhea: weight loss not exceeding 5% -50 ml / kg bw,
2. moderate diarrhea: weight loss by 5-10% – in infants 100 ml / kg
3. vomiting: administer the drug at short intervals of 5-10 minutes (small amounts, with a teaspoon),
4. for the next 24 hours, the administration of the preparation should be continued in the amount of 100 ml / kg bw. until the diarrhea has stopped completely.

Any loss of fluids (liquid stool, vomiting) should be compensated by administering 50-100 ml of the Hipp ORS 200 supplement. Babies who are breastfed simultaneously with the use of the preparation should be fed as needed.

Contraindications to the use of Hipp ORS 200 are:

1. hypersensitivity to any component of this drug;
2. shock;
3. chronic or acute renal failure;
4. metallic alkalosis;
5. nagging vomiting;
6. bowel obstruction;
7. problems with carbohydrate absorption.

Hipp ORS 200 – warnings

1. Before taking the Hipp ORS 200 supplement, shake the packaging.
2. The drug should be administered chilled to a temperature of 4-8 ° C.
3. It should be remembered that the occurrence of diarrhea / vomiting in children and infants may lead to serious consequences. Therefore, you should always contact your doctor.
