Who among us hasn’t gone overboard with tanning at least once in their lives? After the winter season, we are very thirsty for the sun, which is why we willingly expose our body to the first rays of the sun. Many of us dream of being able to boast of a beautiful, bronze tan as soon as possible. We often forget, however, that the sun in excess can be harmful and dangerous to our health and life. Excessive tanning causes aging of the skin, loss of elasticity, discoloration and can even lead to cancer. The first sign of the negative effects of the sun on the skin is sunburn.
Sunburn manifested by reddening of the skin after its excessive exposure to sunlight or ultraviolet radiation present in the solarium. The skin becomes red, sore, its temperature rises. The skin may peel off over time.
Home remedies for sunburn
In the case of such a burn, it is enough to use a few home, proven methods, and you will certainly feel relief. Here they are:
- Make a cold compress – low temperature will deal with redness and relieve pain. Just soak a towel or other material in cool water and apply it to the burned skin.
- Smear yourself with potato juice – its analgesic and anti-inflammatory properties cannot be overestimated.
- Take a bath with apple cider vinegar – if you happen to have it on hand, it will work great. Add a cup of vinegar to your bath and it will restore the pH balance of your skin.
- Apply aloe juice – perhaps you have aloe vera in your home flower garden. Take a leaf, break it and apply the extracted gel on yourself, which will cool the burn and restore the skin’s protective barrier.
- Try honey – gently massage it into the burnt place, and after about a quarter of an hour, wash it off. The enzymes and probiotics contained in it have an anti-inflammatory effect and reduce swelling.
- Add a handful of oatmeal to your bath – relieve pain and reduce swelling.
- Make a yogurt wrap – necessarily natural., apply a thicker layer and wait for it to be absorbed.
- Take a lukewarm bath with baking powder – make sure that after getting out of the water, do not wipe yourself thoroughly, but let the skin dry on its own. A layer of powder will remain on the epidermis and relieve pain better.
- Make a fresh cucumber mask – has analgesic and cooling properties. Put the cucumber in the fridge, let it cool down, then blend it and apply it on your skin.
- Use cold milk – applied to the burn, it will create a protective layer.
- Make a chamomile tea – let it cool down and make a poultice to speed up the healing process.
- Lubricate yourself with coconut oil – this recently very popular product, containing good fatty acids, is universally applicable and will also help with sunburn, moisturizing and nourishing.
Once you deal with the problem, draw conclusions for the future and remember that the sun, like everything in excess, can be harmful. Moderation and proper protection are highly recommended here.
