Solid preparation for the matura exam is not only long hours spent with your nose among books. It is also proper, well-balanced nutrition that will provide our body with valuable nutrients and make the brain function more efficiently.
Good memory and concentration are the key to success. Many young people, faced with the need to intensively acquire knowledge, eagerly reach for energy drinks, which translate into a short-term increase in efficiency and are not the best solution for a still developing body. However, it is enough to add a few tasty products to everyday meals or snacks to improve your intellectual abilities overnight.
Healthy food recharges batteries!
- A valuable treasure for our body are, of course, seeds and nuts. These snacks do not avoid free radical-fighting polyphenols, which are also responsible for the durability of bonds between neurons and the formation of nerve cells. What’s more, they do not lack B vitamins or omega-3 acids, i.e. ingredients that support the functioning of the brain.
- Sea fish such as herring, cod, salmon or mackerel are a great source of omega-3 fatty acids, so it is worth eating them at least twice a week. In addition to their positive effect on memory, they have valuable benefits for the functioning of the heart, including protect against a stroke.
- Theine hidden by tea leaves is the equivalent of caffeine contained in coffee, thanks to it we can enjoy the increased efficiency of the nervous system. Red and green teas deserve our special attention. We should also remember that tea is a rich source of polyphenols.
- Who among us does not like chocolate? The best results will be obtained by consuming the bitter one, although the abilities of our mind will sharpen after consuming the milk tablet. As the American researcher Bryan Raudenbush showed, the test participants who consumed chocolate showed better memorization of words and a better reaction to stimuli.
- Vegetable juices have been in fashion for several years and rightly so, because they are a healthy replacement for highly sweetened carbonated drinks that do not avoid artificial colors and flavor enhancers. Each glass of this type of juice provides us with the necessary antioxidants and vitamins for the smooth functioning of the brain. If their taste does not suit us, we can break them with fruit juices. A good choice is beetroot juice, which supports the transport of oxygen to the brain.
