Herpes medicine should be prescribed by a doctor, do not self-medicate. However, before we reach for a cure for herpes, it is worth knowing all stages of the infection’s development.
The first phase is itching and redness around the mouth. In the next stage, small lumps appear on the lips, which not only cause great discomfort, but also hurt. Most often, the pustules are in one place. In the third phase, the pimples fill with serous fluid. After about 7/10 days, the vesicles begin to burst and this is where infection can occur. After rupturing, an erosion forms at the site of the bubbles. The last stage is drying up of the places where the scabs have appeared.
In the case of treatment, a herpes medicine is necessary, the pustules must not be scratched or punctured. Herpes medication must be selected by a doctor. Most often it is an ointment for topical application, but it happens that with more extensive infection, the drug may be taken orally. Since the pustules hurt, it is worth reaching for painkillers in tablets, but a topical painkiller, for example lidocaine, will also work. Any herpes medicine purchased at a pharmacy can be supported with home remedies. Aloe, mint, chamomile, honey, garlic and tea will work very well.
