A good example of why it is really important to stay at home.
Many call the coronavirus pandemic a war with an invisible enemy. In this battle, doctors are at the forefront, saving the lives of thousands of patients around the world every day. They hardly see their relatives and friends, because they spend all their time on the battlefield.
To minimize the risk of infection, doctors have to wear suits, masks and goggles, which must fit very tightly to the face. Shifts end, but traces of personal protective equipment remain.
One of the doctors who voluntarily went to the “red zone” was therapist, cardiologist and nutritionist Natalia Zubareva. She felt for herself what it is like to work in special protective equipment.
– Due to the catastrophic shortage of doctors in the hospitals of the “red zone”, I made a difficult decision for myself, but the only possible decision in the current situation, and went to work as a general practitioner to receive patients by ambulance, where patients of varying severity are delivered. – shared Zubareva.
Shifts last 12 hours, doctors work in masks and protective suits tied with adhesive tape, from which the whole body sweats and swells a lot. After entering the “red zone” there is no opportunity to drink or go to the toilet, doctors have to work in diapers.
– I would like to address everyone on behalf of the doctors working in the covid zone. Despite the fact that the spring weather beckons to go out and the shops will start opening soon, please do not lose your vigilance! This virus is really dangerous if you do not start fighting it in time. For a doctor, there is nothing worse than not being able to help a patient when the disorders that the disease has produced are incompatible with life, ”says Natalya.
But even in such a difficult situation, doctors do not lose their optimism and believe in the best. They share their photos on social media to show people how important it is to stay at home now.
“A colleague spent 10 hours in the ‘dirty zone’, me – 3. Why is it so hard? In addition to the fact that doctors’ work is usually not easy, it is difficult and uncomfortable to breathe in personal protective equipment, the mask sweats – visualization is difficult, and it is stuffy in a suit. But the most offensive thing is that we are all beautiful, but only the eyes are visible, ”one of Kommunarka’s doctors writes on his Instagram.
We have collected pictures of doctors after heavy shifts from all over the world. Here you will see specialists from Russia, America, Canada, Italy and other countries. All of them are real heroes who save the world before our eyes.
