Herencia de Plata

Herencia de Plata (Herencia de Plata) – high quality tequila, more than once awarded the highest awards at international competitions. The drink is produced by Tequilas del Senor, the largest exporter of national alcohol in Mexico. The brand was launched in 1997. Herencia de Plata is one of the twenty best alcoholic drinks in the world.

Historical information

The history of the company began in 1942, when Don Cesar Garcia founded a tequila factory in Guadalajara, Jalisco. The region is considered the center of Mexico’s alcohol industry due to its favorable climate and soils rich in iron, which gives the earth a reddish hue. The enterprise was named “Rio de Plata”. Already in 1957, the company began exporting tequila to the United States.

In 1973 the factory was completely reconstructed. The plant was one of the first in Mexico to be equipped with modern technological equipment made in Germany. A new packaging line was launched in the 80s, at the same time the company managed to enter the European market. The 90s were marked by the release of new varieties of tequila. Tequilas del Senor has been awarded by the Mexican government for the highest level of export among all alcohol producers. The company’s products are represented in 50 countries around the world.

Production features

The blue agave is grown in the fields around the factory. It takes at least eight years of careful cultivation for a plant to reach maturity. Agave pickers, known as himadores, cut down the fleshy spiky leaves with a special sharp instrument called a koa. The remaining cores are cut off and sent to the factory.

Raw materials are placed in huge autoclaves and steamed. As a result of heat treatment, the starches contained in the agave are converted into sugars. The boiled cores are crushed and separated from the liquid. The agave juice goes into stainless steel fermentation tanks. The resulting aromatic spirits undergo double distillation and subsequent clarification.

Later, tequila is poured into oak barrels for aging. The term depends on the type of strong drink. Mature tequila is called anejo, less seasoned is called reposado. Compliance of the finished product with the established quality standards is checked by the commission of the Council for the Supervision of the Production of Tequila. Tequilas del Senor drinks are highly regarded in the US, Canada and most of Europe.
