A persistent sore throat, dryness and strained vocal cords – these are the conditions that accompany a cold. Herbitussin are lozenges designed to protect the mucosa of the throat and larynx, and thus eliminate unpleasant burning and pain.

Herbitussin – properties and action

Herbitussin lozenges are a dietary supplement that contains a specially selected combination of medicinal herbs. It is recommended for use in the case of dry throat, irritation of the pharyngeal and laryngeal mucosa, as well as upper respiratory tract infections. A mixture of herbs in Herbitussin soothes pain in the larynx and throat and irritation of the vocal cords by creating a coating on the mucosa, and vitamin C supports the overall immunity of the body. Essential oils, on the other hand, refresh the upper respiratory tract. Herbitussin is dedicated to adults and children from 6 years of age.

There are four types of Herbitussin lozenges. They differ in taste and content of individual herbs. However, their properties do not change.

Herbitussin – composition

All types of Herbitussin are based on honey, sugar and glucose syrup, as well as herbal extracts.

  1. Herbitussin Cough and Throat additionally contains elderberry juice and extracts of licorice root, mint leaves, mullein flowers, eucalyptus leaves, blackberry leaves, fennel fruits, chamomile flowers, elder flowers, linden flowers, cornflower flowers, mallow flowers, leaves sage, star anise fruit, thyme, as well as L-ascorbic acid, menthol, anethole and eucalyptus oil.
  2. Herbitussin Lichen Icelandic also contains Icelandic lichen extract, L-ascorbic acid, natural aroma and blackcurrant juice concentrate, black carrot juice concentrate, menthol, chamomile flower extract, cornflower flower, mullein flower, mallow flowers, blackcurrant flowers lilac, linden flowers, mint leaves, blackberry leaves, sage leaves, eucalyptus leaves, thyme herb, licorice root, star anise fruit, fennel fruit.
  3. Herbitussin Honey and Lemon with Vitamin C contains Icelandic lichen extract, L-ascorbic acid, citric acid, menthol, turmeric coloring extract, chamomile flower extract, cornflower flower, mullein flower, mallow flowers, elderberry flowers, flowers linden, mint leaves, blackberry leaves, sage leaves, eucalyptus leaves, thyme, licorice roots, star anise fruit, fennel fruit and natural lemon flavor.
  4. Herbitussin Tymianek i Podbiał – thyme leaves and flowers extract, coltsfoot leaf extract, menthol, anethole and eucalyptus oil.

Herbitussin – dosage

The Herbitussin dietary supplement is available in the form of lozenges. It is intended for oral use. Do not exceed the prescribed daily dose:

  1. adults and children from 12 years of age – 3 lozenges / day
  2. children from 6 to 12 years of age – 2 lozenges / day

Herbitussin – contraindications and comments

Consult your doctor or pharmacist if you are hypersensitive to any of the ingredients of Herbitussin. A dietary supplement cannot replace a varied diet. While using it, you should eat wholesome meals. Taking Herbitussin lozenges during pregnancy and breastfeeding is not recommended.

Herbatussin should be kept out of the reach of small children, at room temperature and protected from moisture and light.
