Heparizen is used in the supportive treatment of superficial thrombophlebitis, inflammation of the veins of the lower extremities, varicose veins of the lower extremities, post-traumatic conditions (hematomas, bruises, edema) and to prevent and treat the formation of hypertrophic scars and keloids.

Heparizen is an anticoagulant medicine used as an adjunct to:

  1. thrombophlebitis of surface veins,
  2. inflammation of the veins of the lower extremities,
  3. varicose veins of the lower extremities,
  4. post-traumatic conditions (hematomas, bruises, edema).
  5. Prevention and treatment of hypertrophic scars and keloids.

Dosage

Heparizen is a gel for topical application to the skin.

  1. Apply a 5-10 cm long strip of gel to the affected area and gently massage in 1-3 × / day.

Heparizen and contraindications

Contraindications to the use of Heparizen are:

  1. allergy to any ingredient of the preparation or esters of parahydroxybenzoic acid (so-called parabens),
  2. application of open, bleeding or oozing wounds and skin lesions of unknown origin,
  3. use in case of skin infection,
  4. use on mucous membranes and around the eyes,
  5. giving the drug to children.

Heparizen – warnings

  1. Heparizen in the form of a gel is intended for external application to the skin.
  2. Particular care should be taken in people who have a hemorrhagic diathesis.
  3. Due to the content of ethanol, Heparizenna should not be used on mucous membranes, around the eyes, on open wounds and on purulent skin lesions.
  4. Do not use on skin lesions of unknown origin.
  5. Before using the drug in pregnant women or during breast-feeding, a doctor should be consulted.
  6. Long-term use of the gel may cause a hypersensitivity reaction such as redness, rash, itching, burning or erythema.
  7. Heparizen should not be used in children due to the lack of safety information.
  8. A doctor should be consulted if the symptoms do not disappear after a week of using the drug.

Heparizen – interactions

The use of Heparizen may increase the effect of oral anticoagulants on the prolongation of prothrombin time (may cause an increase in blood clotting time).

Hypersensitivity reactions such as: redness, erythema, skin inflammation, itchy skin, dry skin.
