Hepa-Merz 3000 stimulates the removal of ammonia from the body and is used in the case of hepatic encephalopathy (cirrhosis, chronic hepatitis). Its active substance is ornithine aspartate, which immediately after absorption is broken down into ornithine and aspartate, i.e. amino acids necessary for nitrogen transformation in the body. In this way, through detoxification, the concentration of ammonia in the blood, which is toxic to our nervous systems, is reduced. The preparation also regenerates damaged liver cells.

Hepa-Merz 3000 – contraindications

The preparation cannot always be used, for example if we are allergic to any of its ingredients or other antihistamines. It should also not be taken in the case of severe renal failure (serum keratin above 3 mg / 100 ml), disorders of amino acid metabolism and glucose-galactose absorption disorders or fructose intolerance. The drug contains sunset yellow, which is often allergenic, especially among those allergic to acetylsalicylic acid. Patients with sucrase-isomaltase deficiency should not use this preparation.

Hepa-Merz 3000 and the effect on the ability to drive vehicles

Dosage of Hepa-Merz 3000

The drug comes in the form of granules when used orally. Do not exceed the recommended 1-2 granule sachets 1-3 times a day. Contents sachets dissolves in a glass of water. The solution should be drunk with or immediately after a meal.

Can Hepa-Merz 3000 be used during pregnancy and breastfeeding?

Do not use any medications without consulting your doctor in time pregnancy or breastfeeding. There are no clinical studies on the use of the preparation Hepa-Merz w pregnancy and in the period of lactation. The preparation should be avoided during this period, and if necessary, the potential benefits should be weighed against the risks that may be associated with its use. There is no information on the release of the active substances of the drug Hepa-Merz into breast milk.

Can Hepa-Merz 3000 be taken simultaneously with other preparations?

No harmful interactions with other preparations were found.

Hepa-Merz 3000 – what side effects can I expect?

Like every preparation, also Hepa-Merz may cause side effectsalthough they do not apply to all patients who use this drug. Side effectsaccording to research, they are relatively rare.

Uncommon occurrences: nausea, vomiting, flatulence, diarrhea, stomach pain.

Pain in the limbs and skin and subcutaneous tissue disorders appear very rarely – sunset yellow (E110) may contribute to the development of allergic skin reactions.
