Hemorectal is a drug used in proctology to treat hemorrhoids and inflammation of the rectal mucosa. The preparation affects the cardiovascular system, has anti-inflammatory and astringent properties. Hemorectal is available in the form of rectal suppositories and is dispensed without a prescription.

Indications for the use of Hemorectal

The active substances of Hemorectal are bismuth, boric acid and zinc. The drug is used in the treatment of rectal varices and inflammation of the rectal mucosa.

Dosage:

  1. Adults: usually 1 suppository rectally at bedtime; in more severe cases, 1 suppository in the morning and evening.

Hemorectal and contraindications and warnings

Hypersensitivity to any of its components is a contraindication to the use of Hemorectal.

Hemorectal – warnings:

  1. If there is no improvement after 3-4 weeks of treatment, a medical consultation and re-diagnosis is recommended.
  2. In the event of rectal bleeding or worsening of symptoms, treatment should be discontinued and a doctor consulted immediately.
  3. Caution should be exercised when using on damaged skin because resorcinol and boric acid contained in the preparation may be absorbed.
  4. In pregnant women, Hemorectal should only be used when, in the doctor’s opinion, the benefit to the mother outweighs the potential risk to the fetus; there are no data on the safety of the preparation during pregnancy and breastfeeding.

Hemorectal – interactions: They are not known.

Hemorectal – side effects: Rarely, the following may occur: irritation, burning sensation of mucous membranes, swelling.
