Hemcort-HC is used to treat external and internal hemorrhoids, chronic and acute inflammation of the anus, anal fissures and anal itching. Do not use the drug in high doses for long periods of time. The preparation is in the form of rectal suppositories or over-the-counter ointments.

ACTION
Hemcort-HC is a combined preparation containing a glucocorticosteroid and a mild astringent agent.
Hemcort-HC – indications and dosage
Hemcort-HC is a drug recommended for the treatment of:
- external and internal hemorrhoids,
- chronic and acute inflammation of the anus,
- anal fissures and anal itching.
Drug dosage
Hemcort-HC can be used in the pre- and postoperative period.
- Usually 1 suppository in the morning and evening, and after each bowel movement, or a small amount of ointment using the rectal applicator and outside, morning and evening, and after each bowel movement.
- Use for 3-6 days until inflammation is gone.
Hemcort-HC and contraindications
Hemcort-HC is contraindicated in:
- hypersensitivity to any component of the preparation,
- tuberculosis,
- fungal and viral infections.
Hemcort-HC – drug warnings
- Hydrocortisone should not be used until a diagnosis is made.
- In the event of irritation symptoms, treatment with Hemcort-HC should be discontinued.
- If an infection is present, appropriate causal treatment should be applied.
- Systemic changes characteristic of corticosteroids are unlikely to occur in the case of long-term use of the preparation.
- The safety of the preparation in pregnant and lactating women has not been fully established. Before using the drug during pregnancy or breastfeeding, consult your doctor.
- High doses or long-term use of the drug is not recommended.
- There is no information on the effects of Hemcort-HC on the ability to use and drive vehicles.
Hemcort-HC and other substances
There are no known interactions of Hemcort-HC with other drugs.
Hemcort HC – side effects
During treatment with Hemcort-HC, the following may occasionally appear:
- anal burning (especially in the case of epidermal damage),
- in the case of long-term use, side effects may occur due to the systemic effects of hydrocortisone.
