Many have probably heard that the cells of our body are completely renewed in seven years. However, for cells of different groups, the renewal period is different: the shortest – less than a month – in epidermal cells. Therefore, as doctors say, it takes very little time to significantly improve (or worsen) the condition of the facial skin. Including with the help of a diet.
Aiming Assistance Shells
Even common phrases are good – like the well-known advice “eat less canned food, more greens and vegetables.” But there are also real “sighting shells” that work powerfully, for sure. We divided them into groups.
Antioxidants
The main concept in the fight for a beautiful face is antioxidants: compounds that fight free radicals. Free radicals formed due to the fact that we eat foods with preservatives, inhale tobacco smoke, drink medicines, live in an unfavorable area, etc., always lack one electron. They strive to take it away from full-fledged cells and thus destroy our cells. Free radicals are considered the main cause of aging, and antioxidants can detoxify them. The latter include vitamins A, E, C and many trace elements, but more often they are spoken of as the sum of their merits.
What is: blueberries, cranberries, plums and strawberries; different types of beans, artichokes, common cabbage, Brussels sprouts and broccoli, spinach, beets; nuts, prunes.
Polyunsaturated fatty acids
When in the early 1940s a Swedish actress Ingrid Bergman became a movie star in America, she received the nickname “Scandinavian milkmaid”. Her skin was perfect and she didn’t even need makeup on set. This, of course, was greatly facilitated by the Scandinavian diet – a lot of fish containing polyunsaturated fatty acids omega-3 and omega-6. They are responsible for allowing cell membranes to allow nutrients into cells and retain moisture, which makes the skin look younger and firmer.
What is: oily northern salmon, walnuts, flax seed oil.
Dairy produce
Surprisingly, dairy made the list because of its vitamin A content, rather than the glorified calcium. According to nutritionists, not every organism can assimilate vitamin A necessary for beauty, for example, from carrots – but in fermented milk products it is extremely “loyal” and is perceived by everyone. An additional bonus is yoghurts with live bacteria or enzymes that have a beneficial effect on digestion (the better it is, the less toxins remain).
What is: cottage cheese and yogurt, young and mature cheeses, kefir and yoghurts. When doing this, opt for low-calorie, natural foods, no fruit additives – ideally homemade.
Selenium-containing foods
If you read specialized magazines, for example or, you can find out that selenium is indispensable for the skin. It protects it from loss of elasticity, and from oxygen starvation, and from harmful ultraviolet radiation. By the way, whole grains containing it fulfill another important function – they give a feeling of satiety and save us from filling our stomach with “white” food like bread and sweet rolls, which are not useful not only for the figure, but also for the face.
What is: wholemeal bread, whole grain crisps, muesli, corn, seafood, garlic, brewer’s yeast.
Sulfides
Another beauty mineral is sulfur (remember the healing sulfuric springs). Sulfides – various chemical compounds of sulfur – are found in many products, but they are especially well absorbed raw, which is why it is important to put, for example, raw onions and bell peppers in a salad, throw parsley “just from the garden” into a dish that has already been removed from the fire and there are cheeses made from raw milk (these are, for example, parmesan and mozzarella).
What is: eggs, seafood, meat, cheese, nuts, cereals.
Enemies of beautiful and healthy skin
Fatty, spicy, fried – the skin becomes oily
Smoked – pores expand
Salty, spicy – the skin is more easily irritated and inflamed
Canned food – the complexion deteriorates
Sweet, coffee – acne and irritation appear
Of course, you don’t have to completely exclude such dishes (you probably love all of this). If you know when to stop, something can be beneficial – for example, spices contain antioxidants, and if you eat curry not every day, but on holidays, the person will only be glad. And one more thing: do not forget that the skin is an indicator of the general state of the body, and if, for example, you regularly poison your stomach with junk food, external manifestations will not take long.
Many of the listed products can not only be “ingested”. Hardly anyone will doubt the benefits of natural masks and lotions.
Black currant – whitens and tightens pores
Strawberries – improves complexion, relieves irritation and works as an antiseptic
Cucumber – whitens and refreshes
Carrots – softens and rejuvenates
New potatoes – removes traces of fatigue and smoothes the skin
Fresh greens – soothes and refreshes
Green tea – tea ice tones up, strengthens blood vessels
Curd – smoothes wrinkles and cleanses
Oatmeal – rejuvenates
For homemade masks, it is advised to rub hard vegetables and fruits on a fine grater, and to knead juicy berries with a fork. The vitamin mixture can be diluted with olive oil or honey.
