PSYchology

If we are treated fairly at work, we are much less likely to get angina or myocardial infarction than colleagues who feel neglected or suffer undeserved resentment.

This is confirmed by the data of a large-scale study by a group of scientists from Finland — Dr. Mika Kivimäki and others — and England — professors Jane E. Ferrie, Eric Brunner and others. Scientists observed 6400 men — employees of different companies — for 15 years. Their conclusion: unfair treatment affects us more than risk factors for cardiovascular disease such as smoking, alcohol consumption, hypertension, obesity or high physical activity.
