Healthy homemade shawarma recipe

If you do not explode with indignation at the word “fast food” and sometimes buy something to have a snack on the run or in urgent matters, then homemade shawarma is a good option!

The main thing is that you will be sure of the purity of the ingredients, the calorie content of the dish and the correct combination of products. Catch the recipe for delicious homemade shawarma!

Ingredients: 

  • 150 g boiled red chicken meat
  • 1 medium ripe tomato
  • 50 g mozzarella cheese
  • half an avocado
  • 1 sheet of pita bread
  • a teaspoon of hops-suneli seasoning
  • a pinch of turmeric
  • 120 ml yogurt
  • clove of garlic
  • dried herbs and salt to taste

Method of preparation: 

  1. Combine the meat with the hop-suneli seasoning and turmeric.
  2. Make a sauce with yogurt, garlic, herbs, and salt.
  3. Mix the peeled and chopped avocado with chopped mozzarella, cut the tomato into slices.
  4. Grease pita bread with sauce, put cheese, tomato and avocado on the edge closest to you, pour over the sauce again.
  5. Roll up quickly and place in a hot skillet. Fry until golden brown.
