Healthiest country: Iceland, Switzerland, Finland

The criteria for inclusion in the list were the low level of air pollution in the major cities of these countries; a high percentage of the state’s population with access to clean drinking water and good sanitary conditions; low infant mortality; low incidence of tuberculosis; high concentration of doctors per thousand people; high level of life expectancy in men.

The ranking of the healthiest countries looks like this:

Iceland… The country has a high level of life expectancy – seventy-two years for men and seventy-four for women, low levels of infant mortality (two deaths per thousand newborns) and tuberculosis incidence (2,2 cases per one hundred thousand people), as well as a high concentration of doctors (3,62 physicians per thousand people).

Sweden… The country has low levels of infant mortality (three deaths per thousand newborns) and the incidence of tuberculosis (four cases per hundred thousand people).

Finland… The country has low levels of infant mortality (three deaths per thousand newborns) and the incidence of tuberculosis (4,8 cases per one hundred thousand people).

Germany… The country spends over ten percent of its GDP on healthcare. In addition, there is a low level of air pollution.

Switzerland… A high level of life expectancy – seventy-one years for men and seventy years for women, as well as a large number of doctors – 3,61 doctors for every thousand people.

Australia… The country has a low level of air pollution, but a high incidence of tuberculosis – about six deaths for every one hundred thousand people.

Denmark… The normal life expectancy is sixty-nine years for men and seventy-one years for women, but the number of doctors per thousand is one of the lowest on the list (2,93 per thousand).

Canada… The country has one of the highest levels of life expectancy and one of the lowest incidence rates of tuberculosis (3,6 cases per hundred thousand people).

Austria… The country has a low infant mortality rate (four deaths per thousand newborns) and a high concentration of doctors (3,38 per thousand people).

Netherlands… The level of air, water and soil pollution is quite high, but the incidence of tuberculosis is only 5,4 cases for every one hundred thousand people.

The list of countries favorable for health also includes the USA, Israel, Czech Republic, Spain and France.
