Over 1000 Poles were tested as part of the SuperMenu educational campaign. Why is it important to have regular blood tests?

A survey commissioned by SuperMenu by Anna Lewandowska shows that only 29 percent. of respondents test their blood once a year, 6,5 percent. does not remember the last time he had a blood count, and every tenth admits that he does not test his blood at all! Why? The most common excuses are lack of time, long lines to see the doctor, and fear of being tested.

Preventive examinations – an important step on the way to better health and well-being

Regular blood tests are the easiest way to do a basic check of your overall health – a single blood tube gives you a lot of information. Why is it worth having a blood test at least once a year?

● Check that you are not suffering from anemia, such as iron or vitamin B12 deficiency, allergies, diabetes, immunodeficiency or parasitic disease.

● You will detect many diseases in the early stages, incl. thyroid disease, hyperlipidemia.

● You will control the work of many authorities, incl. liver, pancreas and kidneys.

● You will check that your diet is optimally balanced in terms of all nutrients and that you provide your body with the necessary micro- and macroelements.

Younger and younger people suffer from many serious illnesses. Every year there are more and more people suffering from thyroid disease, inflammatory bowel disease, food intolerance or celiac disease. For example, according to researchers from the University of Birmingham, the incidence of ulcerative colitis and Crohn’s disease increased by 55% in the United Kingdom, respectively. and 83 percent in the years 2000–2017. It is also estimated that these numbers will increase by another 25%. by 2025. [1] Importantly, all of the above diseases have very non-specific symptoms, and for this reason, it is also worth getting tested regularly to detect the disease as early as possible.

Preventive blood tests should be performed at least once a year, unless any alarming symptoms appear or the doctor recommends otherwise. What preventive checkups should be done at least once a year? Without a doubt, a complete blood count, glucose and lipid profile.

How To Improve Bad Morphology With Diet?

Did you do a blood test and it turned out that some parameters were abnormal? Remember to never look for a diagnosis on the Internet – consult the results with a doctor who will indicate the best next steps in the field of diagnosis, possible treatment or changing habits to healthier ones. If you need to change your diet, consult a dietitian.

We can correct many incorrect test results thanks to properly composed meals. Diets are no longer just a way to lose weight, and consumers’ awareness of the impact of proper nutrition on their health is growing every year. Do you have too low iron levels? It is worth making sure that your diet includes more iron and vitamin C-rich foods that will help in its absorption. Research shows too high cholesterol in the blood? Try a Mediterranean diet based on limiting your intake of saturated fatty acids and animal products. For people who want to lower blood pressure, the DASH diet is a good choice, and for people with abnormal blood sugar levels – a diet with a low glycemic index [GI].

In addition – as confirmed by many scientific studies – a specialized diet can help fight even more serious diseases: allergies, food intolerances, celiac disease, Hashimoto’s disease, hypothyroidism, RA, psoriasis, irritable bowel syndrome and many others. For example, a diet that supports the treatment of psoriasis should be rich in foods that are sources of antioxidants, selenium, and omega-3 fatty acids that alleviate the course of the disease. It is also recommended to increase the consumption of vegetables and fruits rich in flavonoids, carotenoids and vitamin C. [2]
