Healing baths: adjusting the temperature

Healing baths: adjusting the temperature

Taking a bath to relax is a common practice. But water not only soothes, it can invigorate, relieve stress, and even heal. The main thing is to choose the desired temperature regime.

Water acts on the skin, and through it on the entire body. This happens due to the fact that the skin has a developed network of blood vessels and nerve endings, which are very sensitive to cold and heat. And the greater the difference in temperature, the stronger the action and reaction.

Hydrotherapy acts on the peripheral nervous system, circulation and distribution of blood in different organs, slowing down and speeding up the metabolism.

Warm baths

In warm water, blood vessels dilate, blood circulation improves, muscles relax, and the nervous system calms down. It is not for nothing that heat is believed to be the key to combating stress. To get the desired effect, the temperature of the water in the bathroom should be 37-40 degrees. If it gets hard, dizziness begins – the water is clearly overheated.

The more the body is immersed in water, the healthier it is. You need to be careful if there are problems with the heart and lungs – the water should not be higher than the level of the heart. Otherwise, you just need to lie down and relax for 15-20 minutes.

How we feel depends on the temperature of the water.

Cold water increases the body’s resistance, such baths have a stimulating and tonic effect, resist premature aging of the body, relieve fatigue. The water temperature of cold baths is 12-18 degrees, cool – a little warmer – 18,5-27,5 degrees. A cold bath is taken. 2-3 minutes. For a gradual habituation, you can start with a warm bath (about 32-34 degrees) and gradually reduce the temperature to 12 degrees. Such procedures are best done as a course. For example, 2-3 times a week.

Useful Supplements

The water that flows from the tap is not always useful, and to be honest, in most cases it is completely harmful. To get a healing effect, you can add herbal infusions (chamomile, motherwort, juniper, etc.) to the bath, which are effective in preventing skin inflammation, dandruff, colds, muscle pains, rheumatism and arthritis.

Usually 300 g of the mixture is taken, brewed with boiling water and after half an hour is poured into the bath. But you can put herbs in a cloth bag and dip them in hot water while the bath is being filled, and then, while taking a bath, wipe the body with it. But it is better not to add aromatic oils to the bath. They will not dissolve in water anyway, but simply float to the surface. Herbal baths can be taken 1-2 times a week.

Do not rush to dry off after a bath. Better to wrap your wet body in a robe and go to bed for 10 minutes. Doctors say that it is during rest in the body that healing processes are actively taking place.

Mild cleansing and delicate aromas

1. Shower cream gel “Moments of Joy”, Nivea, with bamboo milk and orange scent.

2. Cream shower gel from Camay with vanilla aroma.

3. Shower gel cream Palmolive with the aroma of papaya and yogurt.

Water and blood pressure

  • Below 35 degrees – increases pressure;

  • From 35 to 40 degrees – lowers blood pressure;

  • Above 40 degrees – again increases the pressure.

The optimum temperature for all is water temperature equal to body temperature. This does not affect the cardiovascular system.
