He, she and mathematics

Conventional wisdom says that in the exact sciences, men achieve greater success than women.

But does this mean that the mathematical abilities of the stronger sex are initially higher? “No,” answers Harvard University (USA) psychologist Elizabeth Spelke (Elizabeth Spelke), “male mathematical talent is just a myth. Boys and girls have the same ability structure.” The advantage of the stronger sex in mathematics and the exact sciences really manifests itself, but only after graduating from college, not earlier than 18-19 years old. It is possible that by this age there is a different motivation for men and women to master the exact sciences and a different attitude of society towards their scientific career.
