The 16-year-old was born with a hairy tail. He’d been hiding it all his life, and now he’s determined to change that. His recording became a hit on the Internet, and Internet users call him “a boy with a tail”.

Deshant Adhikari is 16 years old and lives in Nepal, South Asia. However, he is not a typical teenager, because he is distinguished by a 70 cm long tail that grows from the lower part of his back and is also hairy. For years, the boy was ashamed of this unusual growth, so he carefully hid it. Recently, however, he decided to put an end to it and not to look at people’s weird reactions. Moreover, he proudly began to wear his tail.

Deshant Adhikari’s parents discovered an unusual growth sticking out of their son’s tailbone shortly after his birth when he was only five days old. Initially, they wanted to remove it. To this end, they visited several hospitals in Nepal and even abroad. However, at the urging of the local clergyman, they decided not to interfere with the boy’s body. Reason? The man suggested that the child might be a reincarnation of a Hindu deity who takes the form of a monkey, or Hanuman. He also added not to comb the tail.

A recording of 16-year-old Deshant Adhikari bragging about his tail has hit the network. The boy video quickly became a hit on the web.

«My parents wanted me to show him and I agreed. Now I don’t feel ashamed to do this anymore. (…) Since then, people have called me “the boy with the tail”. And I feel very comfortable with it » admits openly on the Adhikari recording.

A tail in a person – is it possible? Where does it come from?

Man has genes that determine the possibility of tail formation, but this process is inhibited in utero. This is a remarkable phenomenon that, for many scientists, is irrefutable evidence of evolution. In the place where other mammals developed a tail, it stays in humans tailbone.

However, it may happen that the genes that determine the possibility of a tail developing are expressed. As a result, the growth may not disappear from the fetus and the newborn may be born with a small growth on the lower back. Such a tail usually contains no bones, only muscles, nerves and blood vessels.
