British officials were touched by x-rays of the man’s esophagus, which they received from doctors. It’s the throat of someone attacked by a recently convicted 28-year-old. During the fight, the aggressor stuck a 14 cm long knife deep into the victim’s neck. A steel part is stuck between the esophagus and the thoracic vertebrae. What is amazing, despite such deep wounds from which blood oozed profusely, the man survived. However, he had to undergo a complicated, hours-long operation to remove the blade.
Officers from Durham Constabulary, a British police formation, have published a shocking X-ray of the area around the throat of a victim who was attacked by a convicted 28-year-old man. The attack occurred during a fight in Shildon, County Durham.
Many hours of surgery saved his life
The victim was close to death, but survived. The knife probably bypassed important blood vessels, which prevented the man from bleeding out on the spot.
“This man is incredibly lucky to be alive,” said Sunil Weerasinghe of the Durham Constabulary unit.

The 14 cm blade remained in the victim’s body, previously breaking away from the hilt because the attack power was so great.
He will suffer the effects of an attack for the rest of his life
The cutthroat victim will most likely suffer the health effects of the attack for the rest of his life. For now, however, doctors are not able to assess what the patient’s future will be.
The 28-year-old striker testified in a Newcastle court. He admitted that he took part in a fight that took place in October 2021. He was sentenced to seven years and two months’ imprisonment.
