There was supposed to be a joke for the photo, and medical intervention was needed. Australian media writes about what happened to a tourist who inadvertently decided to drink water at a swimming pool in Bali. A similar disease can affect those who forget one simple rule while traveling.
An Australian tourist wanted a unique photo from a vacation in Bali and carefully prepared the frame. He thought that he would swim in the pool and water gushing from a fountain, arranged by himself with the use of a garden hose, would fall into his mouth. As he thought, he did so. He did not foresee one “small” detail.
He forgot that drinking such water can make you sick. In his case, painful abdominal pain developed which required medical attention.
The case saw the light of day, because the tourist described his story on social media, on a group for travelers in Bali. As reported by news.com.au, Isaac Power praised the doctor who helped him — Dr. Ari, and commentators pointed out to him that he owed himself. Drinking tap water (and even more so a garden hose) while on vacation has a good chance of ending up with an illness, popularly known as the “curse of the pharaoh” or “Moctezuma’s revenge”.
