Umair has had serious breathing problems over the past years, especially when he was playing football. Over the course of several years, he visited clinics many times. According to the mother of the 14-year-old, doctors of various specializations examined him. Unfortunately, they failed to find the cause of Umair’s health problems, until the latter, to his surprise, one day blew a large metal object out of his nose.

I took him to the doctors a few times, but it didn’t even occur to them to check his nose

– says the mother of 14-year-old Afsheen Qamar, quoted by Wales Online.

A teenager who lives in Croydon, London, felt a prickle on June 19 as he descended the stairs. Then he also went to his mother to notify her of the pain.

Umair’s mom asked him to blow his nose hard. The 14-year-old agreed. He held his left nostril, gasped into his lungs, and after a while a coin landed on the table. As I both report, it was a very unappetizing and bizarre moment.

The boy, quoted by the Daily Star, explained that he probably could have stuffed a coin into his nose when he was about 4 years old.

Foreign body symptoms in the nose

Young children like to put various items in their nose, as evidenced by the story of the 14-year-old from London. Foreign bodies that are pushed through the nostrils are divided into organic and inorganic.

The first are bits of food or seeds that can even sprout in the nose. There are favorable conditions there. The second are items made of wood, plastic or metal, e.g. small blocks or toy parts.

Usually these items are noticed by doctors during a routine examination. Sometimes, however, the object is so deep that you cannot see them. However, there are clear signs that there is a foreign body in the nose. These are pain in the area, bleeding or the appearance of discharge with an unpleasant smell.
