Cheese and pineapple are considered mandatory ingredients of Hawaiian pizza, but instead of ham, spicy sausages, chicken or turkey meat, and bacon can be taken. Additional ingredients can be hot pepper rings, spicy herbs. Naturally, the dish is impossible without a base of traditional pizza dough. Often the cake is coated with tomato sauce, but there are also recipes for “white” Hawaiian pizza.

To make a pizza cake, take:

– ½ glass of warm water; – 2 teaspoons of dry yeast; – 2 cups wheat flour; – 1 teaspoon of salt; – 3 tablespoons of olive oil. Combine warm water with yeast in a small bowl. Leave aside for 5 minutes to allow the yeast to swell. Place the flour and salt in a food processor and pulse mix, add the vegetable oil and then the dissolved yeast. Stir until a sticky dough forms, place on a floured table and knead until smooth and elastic. Roll into a ball, brush with vegetable oil and wrap in plastic wrap, remove in a warm place for 1-2 hours. From this amount of dough, you get two cakes with a diameter of 22 centimeters.

Make sure that the water is not very cold, but not too hot either. The optimum liquid temperature for yeast is from 25 to 32 degrees

Chicken and pineapple pizza recipe

For Hawaiian Chicken Pizza, you will need:

– 2 raw pizza bases; – ½ cup of tomato sauce; – 1 tablespoon of chopped oregano greens; – 1,5 cups of seeded and chopped green chili peppers 1 cup canned pineapple, sliced – 1 cup of cooked chicken meat (breast is preferred), cut into fibers or diced; – 1 cup sliced ​​mozzarella cheese

Place the pizza base on special baking stones or in a heavy, thick-bottomed pan with low sides. Brush each tortilla with tomato sauce, sprinkle with oregano, add chicken, pepper, pineapple slices and cover with cheese slices. Bake in an oven preheated to 260 degrees for 8-10 minutes.
