But before love was an intimate area. And partings only led to sobs into the pillow. But everything has changed. Recently, a new trend has emerged, known by the ugly name of “vindictive porn.”
However, one could call it more affectionately: “vengeful love.” What I’m talking about? There are partners who, after a stormy parting, do not hesitate to post photos on the Internet that compromise the one or the one who left them. Writer, poet and director Jean Cocteau said: “There is no love, there are only proofs of love.” Could one imagine to what extent our epoch would confirm his words? But in a completely twisted way. Years of passionate love represent a real territory of carelessness, where we allow ourselves to be light and even shameless. Being in exaltation at the moment of happiness, we are sometimes naked in front of the camera of our beloved or beloved. We think the present will last forever. But … here’s a surprise: it happens that love stories end. And even, moreover, it can be argued that they often end badly. Where are the times now when the suitcase of the unloved flew out of the window? Disappointments, like many other things, are changing forms in the era of new technologies. Now we look at our mobile phone to find a frame there that will make a mockery of our former significant other. In a moment of anger – modern life constantly provokes explosive natures – we show the whole world something intimate and not quite decent.

And the main question that arises here is this: is it possible to freely and naturally live a love story without thinking about the consequences? “Well, you know, perhaps I would prefer that you not photograph me half-naked, because on the day when we part, I’m afraid you will want to use this photo …” In the land of love blindness, the cautious continue to live with their eyes open. So some couples live their romances the way others experience adultery. Any incriminating evidence should be avoided.
One Internet site, very popular in the United States, invites those who are disappointed in love to post photos of their exes. This is the new realm of cuckolds and abandoned women. It’s scary to even think how easy it is to destroy the reputation of any of us. I know a young man who, out of a precaution (absurd and redundant, of course), erased all the slightly frivolous pictures of a beach holiday on his fiancee’s computer before announcing to her that he was breaking up with her. So now we love each other like this? Horrified in advance that today’s carelessness will turn tomorrow into network revenge? It’s become so trendy that there’s an app where a message will self-destruct after it’s been read! You send sexually colored text or a photo, but the recipient will not be able to easily save the content on their device. If this goes on, moving through life together will need to be as careful as at the scene of a crime. In the end, we will start putting on gloves, making sure that there are no traces of our DNA anywhere, checking if microphones are hidden in the room …
But in fact, it’s all so stupid, all these precautions … After all, love is for life.
