Harmful old men: how the character of pets changes over the years

Find out what will happen to your cute kitty or dog in old age.

Our favorite fluffy (and not so), tailed and mustachioed inhabitants of the house are full members of the family. They get used to us, to life in families, to a certain way of life, the disposition of the owners, they develop individual habits and, of course, character.

But this character will change in different years of life: if in childhood cute puppies and kittens, like true children, look at everything with wide-open eyes, are naive and spontaneous, mischievous and mischievous, then over the years the look may become more cynical, and the character – more capricious.

How the character of dogs and cats changes over the years

Childhood

Of course, in childhood, the foundations of the behavior and norms of the pet are laid, which will remain for the whole of its life. We are talking about getting used to hygiene and all toilet matters, about what you can and cannot gnaw, tear, scratch, touch, where you can and cannot be, how to treat strangers, for example, on the street, and those who comes to the house, that is, to family friends.

At a young age, the owners lay in the pets an awareness of cause and effect: for example, if a dog or cat snatches a sausage from the table, which she was forbidden to do, then she will be punished. Penalties are also formed at this age. At this age, animals, although childishly capricious, playful and playful, but they comprehend the laws of their family, the principles of living in the house, learn to be obedient in order to please their beloved owners.

Youth

When a dog ceases to be a puppy, and a fluffy lump becomes a cat or a teenage cat, you can already see in their behavior what fruits the upbringing gave. The pet understands how to behave with people, dogs, cats, other animals, and the owner can see what fears his pet has, what are the features of his character.

And also favorite habits appear: for example, the pet loves to lie in a pear-chair or finds it amusing to play with the owner’s woolen sock, which was given to him as a toy. In the younger years, the formation of personality also takes place: the pet can behave incomprehensibly, be at enmity, and conquer territory. Dogs try to get the right to bark when they feel like it. Cats show their independence. During this period, animals are very wayward, proud, behave a little arrogantly and feel their equality or superiority over their owners.

Adulthood

After all the territories are divided, all rights to bark or not bark have been won back, bad habits have been suppressed, the pets began to live with you in the family fully. In the case of dogs, you do everything together, love and enjoy each other, walk, sleep, hug, play. The dog is cheerful, cheerful, energetic, calm, not aggressive. And this will continue until the pet begins to age. Cats are energetic and active, their night and day “tygydyks” are regular and full of enthusiasm! A common language was found with his man, there are few conflicts if the animal was instilled in the right habits and brought up correctly.

Old age

At this age, dogs and cats lose their former excitement, enthusiasm and energy. They tend to spend more time with their man, become more sentimental, come to their arms and sit for a long time, with their wet nose buried in the owner’s chest. Their love is boundless, and gratitude and tenderness are read in their eyes.

With all this, they can periodically be grumpy and capricious: they do not like a new dish, and many people in the house, especially strangers, will already be a reason to get angry, and if you stayed late at work and came later than usual, this can cause resentment and manifestations of harm. In general, everything is like with people: old people are the same children! And, like old people, animals develop sleep problems as they age. Sleepy pets can be more irritable and grumpy, angry and harmful. This will become a characteristic habit of old animals.

Senile health problems also leave an imprint not only on the life of pets, but also on their character. If earlier they were a bundle of energy, played without getting tired, frolicked and were independent, now they sleep more, move less. Their cleanliness is also lost: all attempts to atone for a pet or to cut off their claws are perceived as hostile. This is because animals want to be twitched less, they become irritable and a little withdrawn, especially when it comes to unnecessary things like bathing or brushing.

Of course, all animals are different and not always such character changes affect absolutely everyone, without exception. Someone can retain energy and a taste for life to a ripe old age, while others, while still being middle-aged pets, can find their calling and an outlet in carefree lying on pillows. The main thing is to love your fluffy, four-legged, tailed and mustachioed, feathered and any other pets, and they will reciprocate you.
