Hardening of preschool children, methods, principles, in kindergarten
Hardening preschool children is the most effective way to strengthen the body and prevent colds. You can temper in different ways, subject to certain conditions.
Each method for strengthening the immune system consists in the deliberate effect of cold on the child’s body.
The main procedures can be divided into 2 groups:
- Taking air baths. This is done in shorts and a T-shirt at an air temperature of 17⁰C to 26⁰C. In this case, the child must engage in physical exercises, for example, do exercises.
- Water procedures. The most effective way is contrasting douche of feet and legs. To do this, alternate between warm and cool water. In addition, it is useful to douse the child with a bucket of water at a temperature of 28⁰C, and then rub the body with a dry towel. Every 7 days you need to lower the water temperature by 1⁰C, gradually bringing it to 20⁰C. Full dousing is suitable for children over 4 years old.
It is necessary to use this or that procedure, taking into account the individual characteristics of the child and the general state of his health. In any case, the process should bring only positive emotions and joy to the child.
How to temper at home and in kindergarten
In everyday life, you can strengthen children’s immunity in the following ways:
- Have your child walk barefoot on the floor or carpet.
- In the garden and at home, it is better to apply extended washing, that is, wash your hands up to the elbows, neck and upper chest. First, this is done with warm water, and then with cool water.
- As often as possible, you need to ventilate the room or room, especially before going to bed. In good weather, leave the window open overnight, but so that there are no drafts.
- For air baths and during sleep, lower the usual temperature in the room by 3⁰C. For children over 3 years old, the ideal air temperature is 19-21⁰C.
These simple steps will allow your child to adapt to temperature changes. Thus, hardening practically does not take time and does not require special conditions. You can temper this way both at home and in the garden.
The main principles are systematic and gradual. The hardening begun at home should be continued in kindergarten. The procedures must be repeated daily and at the same time. The load on the body must be consistent so as not to provoke serious illness.
It is important to take an integrated approach to the process, for example, after dousing, you can go for a walk or go swimming.
Teach your child from an early age to a healthy lifestyle, this will be a good prevention of viral and bacterial diseases.
