Hand-to-hand combat is a type of combat sports that borrowed a lot from karate and jiu-jitsu; it is used not only in sports competitions, but also for self-defense. Hand-to-hand combat for children is an effective system for mastering defense and attack techniques.
Features of activities for children
The sports section can be attended by boys and girls. In the classroom, the children are divided into groups, by age and depending on the goals that the coach sets for them. For the smallest, health promotion is a priority, for older ones – the development of individual techniques and combat techniques.
During the fight, painful holds, strikes with legs, head and hands are allowed. But for the first year with the guys, the coach is engaged in general physical fitness. He teaches them respect for rivals, the ability to control their aggression, and fights are symbolic.
The military form of hand-to-hand combat is a special sport with a military bias, therefore, ranks and titles are awarded only to those who are in military service after reaching the age of 17.
Training in the gym takes place in a kimono. To participate in fights, in addition to kimono, you need protective ammunition:
- helmet with a metal grill and foam pads inside;
- feet;
- a sink on the groin;
- gloves;
- pads on the forearms and elbows;
- protective vest;
- shin pads;
- knee protection.
Protective uniform, sportsman, puts on under a kimono. It is forbidden to perform without it, since despite the short duration of the fight, you can get injured.
A junior fight lasts only 2 minutes. During this time, you need to score more points than your opponent in order to earn a victory.
At what age to send a child to the sports section
Children are accepted into groups from 5 years old. But the coach begins to work out the techniques with 9-10-year-old children. At the initial stage of training, much attention is paid to developing sports games. Separate fighting techniques and equipment are being gradually developed. Children begin to study strikes, acrobatic elements, get acquainted with the rules of fighting and existing prohibitions.
Each group determines the weekly number of classes at the discretion of the trainer. Most often, freestyle wrestling lessons are held 3 times a week. Individual lessons are also held in preparation for the competition.
The program of classes with children is designed for 10 years. During this time, the child is certified, and receives the first dan – a black belt.
Learning hand-to-hand combat techniques will help the boy when entering military service. Constant training will strengthen health, make him enduring, he will not only receive a sports category, but will also be respected by his colleagues.
