The skin of the hands is exposed to temperature extremes and chapping. In mittens, they are so hot that their palms are sweating, but when they are taken off it becomes so cold that they bring their fingertips together. All these are manifestations of winter. Together WDay.ru is starting a winter hand program.
Moisturize, protect, cleanse
In winter, the skin of the hands turns red, dries up and coarsens. If your hands become too sensitive and problems begin, you need to stop using gels and soaps containing alkali. Switch to emollient oils and mousses. If problems are apparent, try hand (and foot and whole body) washes made for children with atopic dermatitis.
In the evenings, apply a generous layer of an emollient, moisturizer, wear flannel mittens, and rest quietly for 30-40 minutes. Do a light exfoliation a couple of times a week, provided the skin is free of irritation and inflammation.
You can make an emollient yourself – for example, use a tablespoon of calendula flowers per 100 g of vegetable (olive, peach, apricot or sunflower) oil. The mixture must be boiled, allowed to cool and filtered.
Before going outside: Protective creams have an ideal formula for winter hand care. These contain a minimum of water and therefore do not create unnecessary evaporation. This is a concentrated Neutrogena hand cream that provides protection, intensive care and repair to even very dry and chapped skin.
According to stylists, in the coming year of the Tiger, soft rounded nails will be in fashion, and the colors will be bright and with tints. However, the rectangular shape will also be relevant. As for manicure, professionals advise to abandon the classic manicure in favor of European (not edged), and go from faded colors to bright highlights. And when shaping the nails, you need to consider one thing: naturalness is in fashion. Length this season also tends to decrease – it is fashionable to have short or medium length nails rather than long sharp claws.
The file will give the nails the shape. For hard nails, choose sand or sapphire, for brittle nails with fine grinding grains. The ceramic nail file is suitable for all nails. However, for proper nail care, you need to remember a few rules:
Too coarse files should not be used for natural nails, as they lead to delamination. Do not be afraid to ask the seller about the file abrasive. For a tool for natural nails, it should be at least 240 units.
Do not file your nails after soaking in the bath, as this procedure makes the nails soft and easily breakable. So first give your nails the desired shape, and then do the bath.
The movement of the file should be smooth and only in one direction: from the lateral edge of the nail to the middle. Do not file down the corners of your nails too much.
Once a week after a shower, the cuticle should be slightly moved inward with a wooden or iron stick with a special gel, so it will not bother and you will do without injuries in the area around the nail.
Apply varnish
Masters advise to apply varnish first on the right hand, then on the left. It is very important to apply varnish to the base, as the varnish itself will corrode the nail and leave streaks and streaks on it. Shake the bottle of varnish thoroughly, and then start applying. Apply varnish from the center to the edges of the nail, first painting over it on the sides, and then in the center. If there are small bumps or irregularities on the nails, they can be hidden by painting under a colored varnish also transparent, which will visually align the nail.
There is a whole palette of fashionable colors this season: from dark blue to orange. To obtain an exclusive shade, the masters suggest mixing varnishes or applying shades of “chameleon” so that the nails look different with each change of lighting. You can mix and choose among the following colors: silver – green – burgundy – pink with mother-of-pearl – orange – red – beige with mother-of-pearl – blue – purple – pearl gray.
