Hallway project: 4 different options

Hallway project: 4 different options

Four design options for a typical hallway. Despite the shortcomings – an elongated shape and a small area with high ceilings – this room has an undoubted advantage – a niche to the right of the front door.

Hallway number 1: for connoisseurs of order

It must be neatly folded into the closet. It was this consideration that guided the designer when planning this hallway. In a niche, he arranged a small pantry, where, however, many different belongings fit. But what to do with outerwear? She was assigned a place on the facade. Both the cabinet doors and the wall next to it are complemented by convenient hooks-hangers. Even wet raincoats and umbrellas are not afraid of the material of the door leaves and the decorative panel that covers the partition (chipboard). A practical solution where space is limited.

Even in such an extremely functional space, you can find a place for an original hanging vase-picture. The main thing is to replace withered flowers in time.

Despite the fact that the depth of the cabinet does not exceed 45 cm, a vacuum cleaner, boxes with various things and even a folding ladder, which, when folded, plays the role of a stool, fit here – after all, it is much more convenient to change shoes while sitting.

Plastic containers are equipped with lids and stackable if necessary. A wall mount is used for the vacuum cleaner.

For those of you who constantly forget where you put your keys, we recommend a hinged container measuring 27 × 16 × 5 cm. Such a key holder can be easily attached to the wall and will fit even in the narrowest partitions.

Ceramic tiles are the optimal floor covering for the hallway. Such cladding greatly facilitates cleaning and is perfectly combined with the underfloor heating system.

Hallway number 2: for those who like to chat

Those who like to chat on the phone will appreciate this hallway. Here you can comfortably sit in a niche, on a soft bench seat, and write something down during a conversation, since a table and functional lighting are provided for this.

Under the bench there is a shelf for shoes, and above, under the ceiling, there is another shelf for storing rarely used items. The soft bolsters on the bench support the overall color scheme – this is more of a decoration than a useful accessory.

A special feature of this hallway was the bright striking of the upper part of the walls and the ceiling, painted in the same orange-red color. A good way to visually reduce the excess height of the room, making it more comfortable.

Sliding hangers with hooks are just what you need for a narrow room. Hangers should be securely attached to the wall as outerwear, especially when wet, is heavy.

Well-organized lighting is important in any place, and even where there is no natural daylight, especially. In addition to the ceiling lamp, there is a wall lamp, as well as a stylish floor lamp.

Hallway number 3: for romantics

It is safe to say that a woman lives in this apartment. After all, it is she who so needs a mirror in the hallway. What for? In order to take a quick glance at yourself as you leave and make sure everything is in order. Or so that before opening the door to a long-awaited guest, carefully look at your reflection and smile. It can also be argued that the owner of the apartment is a romantic nature, to anyone else these elegant African figurines near the door would seem useless excess.

The color scheme of the room reminds us of the African savannah: yellow-beige sand, sun-scorched grass, black hunters … The atmosphere is supported by exotic accessories.

The niche has a custom-made Corian worktop. It will fit your favorite trinkets and bottles of eau de toilette. In addition, functional lighting is organized.

Drawers of the hanging chest of drawers will accommodate a lot of little things and get rid of clutter. Here keys, scarves and gloves will find their refuge. Wicker baskets at the bottom are a tribute to ethnic style.

Hallway number 4: for workaholics

Sometimes there is so little space in the apartment that there is simply nowhere to retire at the computer. In a similar situation, a niche in the hallway is just a godsend.

The proposed solution does not require large expenditures. A ready-made computer desk plus shelves for CDs and books upstairs. Outside working hours, the niche is closed with a curtain panel made of bright, cheerful textiles, and the swivel chair is used for comfortable changing of shoes. Pay attention to the chandelier-fan – an inflow of fresh air during operation is always necessary.

A small home office at the entrance to an apartment is quite a logical decision. Not all visitors want to be allowed beyond the hallway. And they are unlikely to stay for a long time, because it is no coincidence that a stylish clock hangs on the wall.

The curtain is attached to the rail with Velcro tape. And at the bottom of the panel there is a metal weighting bar.

A computer desk (purchased from an IKEA store) with a pull-out panel for the keyboard has successfully fit into the niche. Its bright, upbeat coloring is invigorating almost as much as a cup of strong espresso.
