Hallway and corridor design: projects with estimates
The entrance hall is not only a transition from the general to the particular, say, from the staircase to the apartment, but also a kind of face of the house. The first impression of guests depends on how aesthetic and welcoming it is, and the comfort of the owners depends on how its space is organized.
Urban country
This hallway is decorated in country style. And it is able, like a medicine, to heal literally everyone who crosses the threshold of the house from fatigue and emotional distress. The interior is built on a romantic mix of blue and white. To eliminate monotony, they are supplemented with catchy accents in the form of bright yellow accessories. And two small posters on the wall introduce an intriguing stylistic dissonance into the space.
Below the walls are dressed in an “apron” made of lining and painted, on top they are pasted over with wallpaper with an ornament. Thanks to this practical solution, the wallpaper will stay clean for a long time. And almost any accidental stains can be easily removed from painted surfaces. A moisture-resistant laminate is used as a floor covering.
Hallway and corridor design
Forged shelves with glazed tile shelves are optimal for use in the hallway, because the service life of metal and ceramics is very long.
There are enough hooks on the small wall hanger so that, upon entering the apartment, everyone can hang their outer clothing. Then, if the owners have time, jackets, coats and raincoats will “move” into the closet.
In the upper compartment of a rather deep and high shoe cabinet, you can traditionally place bags, umbrellas and shopping bags, in the lower compartment – numerous shoes. It is also convenient to put velvet brushes right there.
The “apron” from the lining is used not only for the visual expansion of the space. It also protects the wallpaper from dirt. And it is easy to remove stains from its painted surface with a damp sponge.
Numerous accessories are one of the characteristic features of the country style. It was with their help that this hallway was made truly interesting and joyful.

Guests from the past
The main theme of this hallway is the vibrant aesthetics of the 1950s and 60s. The interior was created for connoisseurs of really good cinema and live, slightly hissing sound of vinyl records. To match that time, the color scheme is a black and white background and red accents. The contrasting wallpaper pattern is supported by a similar range of new seat upholstery.
Part of the floor next to the front door is lined with porcelain stoneware, a material whose useful qualities are fully realized in the hallway. Water droplets and dirt brought from the street are not capable of causing any harm to the ceramics. Parquet board was chosen for finishing the rest of the floor. Thanks to the amber shade of the varnish, the room becomes much warmer and more comfortable.
Bright posters and photographs are a must for interiors in the 1950s and 60s style. The lack of color in a black and white photograph can be compensated for by a colorful frame, say, a green knitted frame.
The floor covering is not accidentally divided into two parts. Moisture-resistant porcelain stoneware at the door will significantly extend the life of a capricious parquet board.
The utility of such a room as a hallway does not mean at all that it is impossible to find a place here for bright accessories and expressive decorative objects. The restrained combination of black and white can be “cheered” with bright red details.
This original accessory is nothing more than a magazine rack. Its shape, construction and materials are unusual, but magazines will always be at hand.

Less is more.
Sometimes the starting point in creating an interior is one and only thing. So this hallway was invented. Its prototype was a decorative pillow, from which the drawing was copied and transferred to one of the two front elements of the cabinet. The second facade was made brown, and the same shade as on the pillow. And in support of brown, they chose turquoise, in which they painted the wall at the front door.
The entrance hall is not cluttered with furniture. But there is also no shortage of storage space. Everything you need can be placed in two open cabinets. Another piece of furniture is a garden chair, which is easy to remove dirt from. The floor covering is also resistant to pollution – laminate.
Wardrobes for outerwear are made according to the designer’s sketches. The pattern on one of the walls repeats the pattern taken from the decorative pillow. Furniture hooks have given the decor element some utility – it has also become a hanger.
The usually empty surface of the front door was occupied by a note board. Now messages addressed to household members will definitely not be ignored. The hooks located right there are a worthy place for ever-lost keys.
It is convenient to put small, but important things (watches, letters, bills) on the shelf under the mirror, for which it is not so easy to find a place.
The originally designed wardrobe has no doors at all. A practical solution for small spaces.

Master Class:
You will need: ruler, pencil, compasses, paper knife, masking tape, brush, paint, furniture hooks.
Using a triangle ruler, a compass and a pencil, the contour of the selected pattern is applied to the MDF surface.
After making sure that the resulting stencil fits snugly to the MDF surface, paint is applied with a brush to the space limited by it.
The material for the stencil is masking tape. It also protects the MDF surface from paint.
Using a triangle ruler and a paper cutter, remove excess masking tape.
After letting the paint dry a little (3-5 minutes), remove the masking tape and screw in the furniture hooks.
