Hair. Summer care

In the fall, queues gather at the offices of trichologists, hair treatment specialists. And everyone in these lines has the same problems: hair splits, breaks, falls out, has lost its shine. Help, doctor!

For our part, we think that it is absolutely unnecessary to step on the rake again. The problems are known, so let’s find out in advance what turns a well-groomed head of hair into a bast. And how to avoid it.

The enemy is by the hair

The main seasonal enemies of hair are sun, dust and sea water… They destroy the protective fat layer, wash the keratin protein out of the hair, “spread” the scales that cover each hair shaft like a tile.

In addition, excess sun disrupts the hormonal balance in the body – the production of the male hormone testosterone increases. This may be good for resort adventures, but very bad for beauty: hair begins to fall out, moreover, in key androgenic zones, on the forehead and on the crown of the head.

And the head turns into a crow’s nest completely if you lose weight on vacation. Why? Because one of the functions of the damned adipose tissue, which you finally cornered, is the production of female hormones. It is easy to guess that with its reduction, again, a bias is created in the direction of testosterone. In addition, along with fat, the body loses fat-soluble vitamins, as well as many minerals that are also necessary for healthy hair.

In a word, wherever you throw it, there is a wedge everywhere. Horror.

Arsenal. Masks, oil and silicone

Here is a cosmetic minimum that will save the world from Bruce Willis clones (although he is a darling in any form!).

Firming shampoos… They should contain vitamins A, E and B (for nutrition), keratin and collagen (for strengthening), jojoba, apricot or mango oils (they moisturize the hair and make it easier to comb).

Nutritive oils… Restores protective grease and is especially good in the post-tempering phase, when the hair is already well spent by the sun and sea salt. One “but” – such oils are poorly washed off and visually “weigh down” the hair.

Cosmetic serums and ampoules contain nutrients in a concentrated form – for example, they contain 10 times more ceramides than conventional balms. Convenient in that they do not need to be washed off.

Special fluids with silicones… Necessary for “gluing” split ends.

Masks… They are produced by many companies, although hand-made options also give good results.

For example, mix a spoonful of burdock oil and honey, beat in a fresh egg, add capsules with vitamins A and E to the mixture. Apply to your hair, wrap your head with a film and a towel. Be patient for a few hours.

Please note – such a popular ingredient in homemade masks, like cognac, dries out your hair. If you use it in the summer, so only inside, for spiritual joy.

Cream or spray with UV factor… Protects curls from the harmful effects of ultraviolet radiation, replenishes the loss of keratin. It should be applied to your hair every time you leave the house.

Care Algorithm

1. Wash your hair in the summer it will be more often than usual, and not only for the sake of aesthetics: dust particles settle on the hair and injure them. The water should not be hot, but warm, and the shampoo should be suitable for frequent use. Arrange a contrast shower on your head – this stimulates blood circulation and strengthens the hair follicles.

2. After washing use conditioner or serum… Apply liquid with silicones to split ends if necessary.

3. It is better not to use a hairdryer – it dries out the hair. But if you really can’t do without it, get a model with ionizers, and set the power to the minimum.

4. Twice a week do a hair mask or nourish your hair with cosmetic oils.

5. Daily in the morning and in the evening for 5 minutes massage your head with a brush from natural bristle.

6. Don’t go out in the sun without a hat.

7. Forget about perming, coloring and try to get by with a minimum of styling products. Let your hair rest.

Food. The best diet is no diet

Whatever we say about the sun, salt and dust, nothing is more harmful to hair than unbalanced food, especially a low-calorie diet. The curls will be healthy only when the menu is varied and you do not starve.

During the shock summer vacation, we especially need animal protein and iron to replenish keratin losses. Vitamins A and E moisturize and strengthen hair, vitamins of group B – accelerate their growth, vitamin F – helps to restore shine. Accordingly, it is necessary to include in the diet lean meat and poultry, eggs, nuts and seafood, yellow and orange vegetables. And do not forget about multivitamins, they are still very useful.

Here is a sample menu that you should stick to if you want to strengthen your hair and at the same time – do not want to gain extra pounds. The results will certainly appear, but not earlier than in three months.
