Hair sticks: how to pin correctly? Video

Hair sticks are a great tool for creating stylish hairstyles in just five minutes. They will help you make different styling options – for home, office, walks and even for a party or a special event.

How to choose and use hair sticks

Japanese and Chinese sticks were used to decorate women’s hairstyles centuries ago. At the same time, they performed precisely the role of a decorative element, and not hairpins that held the strands together. Women styled their hair, secured it with natural grease or wax, and then complemented the hairstyle with a comb and chopsticks. If you want to use such products as it should be done by tradition, do your hair, secure it with varnish and hairpins, and then stick sticks into the strands.

Such a hair ornament is usually complemented with flowers, beads, crystals, threads and other decorative elements. When using it, remember that the decor must remain visible.

The more luxurious your hairstyle should be, the more stylish and original jewelry you need to choose. Sticks made of natural wood, complemented by crystals and other expensive elements, will be especially appropriate. For more restrained hairstyles, it is better to choose products with inscriptions or modest decor.

Options for simple hairstyles with sticks

If you do not want to create complex styling, fix it, and then use sticks only as decoration, choose hairstyles in which such products are used as hairpins. For a stylish, slightly casual look, tail-based styling is suitable. Comb your hair and pull it off with an elastic band, and then twist the resulting “ponytail” into a bundle, tie it in a knot and pin it with chopsticks. Pay attention to an important point: the sticks should touch the scalp, i.e. it will not be enough just to stick them into the tourniquet. By holding together several “layers” of the hairstyle, you will achieve better fixation.

Another interesting option is to braid a braid, form a bun out of it and secure it with two chopsticks.

It is recommended to stick them crosswise, and in this case it is better to choose a symmetrical arrangement so that the hairstyle looks more neat. This is a good option for office styling.

There are also more complex options that should be mastered when you learn how to make hairstyles with sticks from simple knots and braids. For example, you can perform “French seashell”. Comb through your hair and then twist it gently to form a tourniquet. Continue to twist it while laying it in a spiral. Hide the end of your hair under a tourniquet, and then secure the hairstyle with sticks. To make the “French shell” hold better, additionally secure your hair with hairpins.
