Coarse hair is thick and bouncy, but at the same time it is naughty: it is very difficult to style it. This is why owners of coarse hair prefer short hair rather than spending long hours styling their hair. Fortunately, you can soften your hair with simple, time-tested folk remedies.
Nettle to soften coarse hair
The stinging stems and leaves of this plant can transform even the toughest hair, making it smooth, shiny and delicate.
To prepare the softener take:
- 1 cup minced nettle leaves and stalks
- 2 liters of water
The prepared raw material is poured with boiling water, after which the container with this mixture is placed in a water bath and boiled for 5–7 minutes. Next, the broth is cooled and filtered. The finished product is used as a hair rinse. To achieve the desired result, it is recommended to rinse your hair daily with a nettle decoction for a week.
You can use fresh or dry nettles
Make your hair soft with these bright yellow spring flowers.
The recipe for an emollient is as follows:
- 2 tbsp flowers
- ½ l of water
Freshly cut dandelion flowers are poured with freshly boiled water and left to infuse for 27-30 minutes. Next, the composition is filtered. This infusion is used to rinse the hair after shampooing. The procedure is recommended to be performed every other day.
How to make a hair softener from burdock leaves at home
To prepare this cosmetic product, take:
- 45-50 g burdock roots and leaves
- 1 liters of water
Raw materials are crushed and poured with boiling water. Insist on this solution for 1,5-2 hours, then filter and rinse the hair with it. By the way, a cosmetic product prepared according to this recipe not only softens coarse hair, but also relieves dandruff and oily seborrhea, and also prevents hair loss.
Apple cider vinegar softens hair remarkably. To do this, 50 ml of vinegar is mixed with 2 liters of water and the hair is rinsed with this solution.
Birch treat for coarse hair
This softener contains the following components:
- 1 liters of water
- a handful of birch buds and young leaves
Prepared raw materials are poured with boiled water and the container is put on fire for 5–8 minutes. After the dishes are removed from the stove and the broth is infused for 1-1,5 hours. Then the product is filtered and rinsed with unruly hair (this procedure is recommended to be done twice a week).
An egg-oil mixture is an effective softener for tough hair
To soften hair, it is advised to prepare a product consisting of:
- 2 chicken egg yolks
- a little water
- 2-3 tsp olive oil
The components are mixed thoroughly. The mass is applied to the hair roots and along the entire length of the strands, after which the head is covered with a plastic bag and insulated with a terry towel. After 13-15 minutes, the softening mask is washed off with warm water.
