Hair removal: which method to choose?

Natural hair removal techniques (tweezers, wax, oriental, thread, etc.) do not destroy the bulb in which the hair is made, but they only allowpluck the hair from the skin. hair grows back after waxing. Natural hair removal are therefore not permanent hair removal.
1. Hair removal with tweezers or thread
It simply consists of pulling out the hairs in small quantities or individually with pliers or a thread. It therefore allows you to select which hair (s) you want to pull out, but it is long and tedious.
Mainly used for face, thread hair removal is a method of making a knot with a small thread and pull on both sides to trap the hairs and pull them out. Fastidious, it is most often carried out by trained people
2. Oriental hair removal
It is an ancestral technique, consisting in making a kind of caramel by means of sugar, water and lemon juice : we heat the sugar in pieces (three handfuls of sugar for half a glass of water) until a brown caramel is obtained. Then add a few drops of lemon juice and immerse the preparation in cold water. We form a ball of preparation that is applied to the area to be depilated by spreading it and pulling it brutally to pull out the stuck hairs.
3. Waxing
It’s about a technique derived from oriental hair removal, which also consists of sticking the hairs in cold or hot wax and pulling it quickly to extract the hairs from their bulb.
- La cold wax is generally used when you do not have access to other waxes (holidays, trips, etc.) because it is often sticky and leaves wax deposits on the skin. It generally requires several passes in the same place to be effective.
- La hot wax usually only requires one pass because its warming effect
- relaxes the skin
- softens the hairs
- dilates hair follicles, which facilitates the extraction of the hair.
Wax is found on the market in can and roll-on. Roll-ons are often more expensive but they allow the temperature of the wax to be controlled better than pots and make thinner wax bands which are therefore easier to tear off.
4. Hair removal with pumice stone
This ancient method mainly applies to the legs and thighs. It consists of rubbing the area very gently with a smooth pumice stone, making small circular movements in order to ” grate »the hairs (in this case, we can no longer speak of epilation), or even to dislodge them from their bulb. The advantage is obtaining a exfoliation of the skin (the skin becomes softer) but it is also possible to observe irritations skin if the friction is too forceful …
