Hair curlers: how to wind your hair? Video
Curlers and electric tongs allow you to easily create curls of any splendor and size. However, luxurious curls, spirals and waves can be obtained without these useful devices. DIY hairpins, hair clips, and other homemade tricks will give you tons of gorgeous curls in no time.
Scraps and pieces of paper: making papillotes correctly
Spectacular curls can be made using simple tools made of paper and pieces of fabric. Soft disposable papillotes do not tear hair, bend well and do not scratch the skin. You can even sleep in them, securely curled curls will not develop. However, for reliability, it is better to dry future curls with a hairdryer. Keep in mind that under-dried curls will quickly sag and lose their shape.
For styling with papillotes, you will need:
- several sheets of writing paper
- cotton cloth or bandage
- hairbrush
- spray for creating curls
- hair spray
- hairdryer
First, make the papillotes. Cut the paper into strips 4–5 cm wide and tear the cotton fabric into long, narrow shreds.
Instead of a cloth, you can use a narrow bandage
Place a piece of paper in the middle of a piece of paper and twist the tourniquet, there should be ties around its edges. Make several dozen papillotes, the exact number depends on the thickness of your hair.
Wash your hair and blow dry, keeping the strands slightly damp. Comb through your hair and spray with a curling spray. Separating small strands, wind them on the paper part of the papillotes from tips to roots. After twisting the curl, fix the papillote with fabric ties. When finished styling, blow dry your hair. Carefully remove the papillotes, fluff up the curls with your fingers and sprinkle the hair with a moderate hold varnish.
Another option for a spectacular home styling is to create beautiful, even waves. This retro hairstyle is suitable for short or semi-long hair.
To create it, purchase:
- large hair clips
- modeling wax
- moderate hold varnish
- comb
Comb clean hair and part in a side parting. Warm a small portion of the modeling wax in the palms of your hands and apply it to the hair from root to tip. Use your fingers to form parallel waves and secure them with metal or plastic clips. Hair does not need to be dried with a hairdryer, after 15–20 minutes the wax will securely fix the bend. Carefully remove the clamps and secure the hair with nail polish.
You can also use liquid wax in a spray to create waves.
African braids: simple and beautiful
Owners of thick long hair can curl them without curlers or other devices. All you need is free time to braid a dozen fine braids.
You will need:
- volumizing mousse conditioner
- hairbrush
- fixing spray or foam
- hairdryer
- electric curling iron
Wash your hair, treat it with volumizing mousse, rubbing the product thoroughly into the roots. Then rinse off the remains, dry your head and blow dry. Comb your hair thoroughly. Separating thin strands, spray them liberally with fixing spray, divide them into three sections and braid them in tight braids.
Do not tie the ends of the braids with elastic bands: creases will appear on the curls.
After braiding the entire mass of hair, blow dry thoroughly. Check the readiness by undoing one braid. If the strands are curled and completely dry, the hairstyle is ready. Unbraid all the braids, being careful not to injure your hair. If you don’t like straight ends, curl them with electric tongs.
