Curlers papillotes: styling with curls

Curls and curls never go out of style, because this is a great way to create both a bright everyday hairstyle and decorate yourself at an important evening event. But if not long ago winding up seriously injured hair, then modern beauty achievements allow you to avoid harsh styling methods. So, you can safely get rid of grandmother’s plastic curlers and aggressive hair curlers, cancel the appointment with the hairdresser for a perm. It’s time to get acquainted with a new way of curling your hair – papillotes!

Papillots (sometimes called papillons) are soft curlers made of elastic materials, analogs of plastic and iron cylindrical curlers

Foam or rubber, most often they are sold complete with thin elastic bands that allow you to fix hair without kinks. Thanks to this combination of materials, styling is as natural and light as possible, and by varying the shape of the papillotes, you can achieve curls of different volume and stiffness.

To securely style your curls, you will need:

  • soft curlers complete with elastic hair bands
  • light foam or styling gel
  • secure hold hairspray
  • comb and hair clips

Styling your hair with soft curlers is perhaps the most gentle way to create curls. But since no hot stylers are used when creating a hairstyle, it takes a lot of time to fix the curls – from 5 to 8 hours. Therefore, it is best to wind your hair at night, especially since the soft materials of the papillotes do not interfere with sleep.

At first, it will be difficult for you to wind your hair yourself. Have patience and two mirrors to help you control the styling on the back of your head

Wash your hair and dry it slightly with a towel to remove excess moisture. Apply the styling product to your hair, backing up slightly from the roots, and comb thoroughly. Divide your hair into 4 large sections: the back of the head, the crown and the temples. Secure your hair with clips (it is better to use hairpins that are not too stiff so that they do not leave kinks in the hair).

Start working from the back of the head. Release small strands of hair starting from the very bottom at the base of the head.

The thinner the strands are, the more small elastic curls you get.

If you want soft, natural curls, wind more hair with one papillote. Twist your hair at right angles. Having reached the roots, fix the strand with an elastic band.

Roll the hair from the back of the head with curlers, then move to the crown and then work with the temporal parts. And then go to bed, looking forward to a wonderful hairstyle. In the morning, remove your curlers, lightly comb your hair and spray with fixing varnish.
