The H2O error appears on the display in the washing machine when water problems occur.
The code H2O, if you remember the lessons of chemistry, resembles the formula of water. Only if in chemistry H2O means an oxygen atom and two hydrogen atoms, then in a washing machine everything is simpler – this is a signal of a problem.
The H2O error in the Indesit washing machine means that in the allotted time the water did not accumulate in sufficient volume for washing or rinsing.
The error code H2O in Indesit brand washing machines can mean not only a shortage, but also an excess. If more water enters the drum than is needed for the washing or rinsing process, the cause must also be eliminated.
What precedes the appearance of the H2O error
After starting the wash, after 5-10 minutes from the start, the process freezes, and the display shows the H2O code. Before that, you could observe such processes:
- The car didn’t fill with water at all.
- Got it, but not enough.
- Got it, but too much.
- The recruitment was ongoing.
There are rare, but not excluded, cases when the washing went on as usual, but the water level provoked a failure already at the rinsing stage.
The code may be displayed for no apparent reason. If you turn on the drain or spin program separately, then the H20 error in the washing machine will not interfere with these processes.
Important! If Indesit CMA issues an H2O error, combining it with other error codes, for example, F01 or F08, then the root cause of the failure lies precisely in the second error.
Causes of appearance
- The failure arose for one of the objective reasons: the tap supplying water was closed; there is no water in the riser itself; there is pressure, but the cleaning filter is clogged (located immediately before the drain valve). The filling valve could also fail.
- Water entering the system immediately drains from it. Usually it goes into the sewer, but a serious leak is not ruled out. To remove the error, it is worth figuring out why the drain occurs. The banal reason for this is the drain hose, the location of which is broken, or it was not originally installed according to the instructions. This happens if the area where the drain pipe enters the sewer is located too low above the floor, so there are no obstacles for free drainage.
How to resolve the H2O error
H2O is a common mistake of any model of Indesit washing machines, so it’s better to immediately deal with the reasons for its appearance in order to ensure comfortable operation of the equipment.
If the reason is in the hose described above, then solving the problem does not require repair and calling the wizard, you can handle it on your own.
When draining water from the system
To cope with the breakdown, you need to properly mount the hose – it is hung on special fasteners provided by the manufacturer on the back wall. As a result, the highest point of fastening is located almost at the top of the CM.
If the length of the hose is not enough, it is worth lengthening the tube. What should I do to lengthen the hose? To do this, you will need a second hose, an adapter and 2 clamps.
If everything is done correctly, but H2O is still on during the next wash, then the reason was not only in the hose – perhaps the control module, pump or other SMA unit failed.
H2O error – what to do next
When an Indesit washing machine gives an H20 error, you can take your time to call the wizard – in many cases you will be able to fix this problem yourself. Fault codes were invented by the developers to prompt the user:
- Water blocked. It is necessary to check whether the valve supplying it to the CM is not closed. In the case of a closed tap, water does not flow at all, but if it is ajar, it flows too slowly. Then the display also shows an error.
- There is no water in the plumbing system. If so, the error appeared through no fault of the machine, it is worth solving a water supply failure – call a plumber.
- Too little pressure in the pipeline. If the pressure is low, then water is drawn in for a long time, and an H2O error appears. The problem should be sought in the water supply, not the washing machine.
- Clogged water inlet filter. This mesh tends to clog over time, which prevents the normal flow of water into the system. To clean the inlet hose, you need to unscrew the filter, rinse it thoroughly. You can put a solution of citric acid in it for a quarter of an hour, which will remove limescale.
- Failure in the control module (board). If H2O appears for the first time, then there may be a malfunction in the indication or control panel of the CM. Reset the error by unplugging the machine for 10 minutes. Take care of the contacts of the electrical appliance, which deteriorate in conditions of high humidity in the room. Perhaps dehumidifiers and good ventilation will save washing machine parts.
If none of the methods described above helped, and the H2O error appears again at the rinsing stage or during washing, then it is best to contact the master or service center with this question.
