Gynoflor – indications, contraindications, side effects

Gynoflor, containing lactobacilli and estriol (Lacidobacillus acidophilus, estriol), is a drug in the form of vaginal tablets, acting locally. Its task is to restore the proper bacterial microflora of the vagina and renew the damaged epithelium, and it can be used as an alternative during hormone replacement therapy and in the case of mild infections. The tablets should be applied at night, just before going to bed, by placing them deep into the vagina. Application of the drug should be suspended during the menstrual period and continued after the bleeding has stopped.

Gynoflora – indications

Vaginal tablets Gynoflor they are most often used in the case of:

  1. restoring the proper physiological flora (after the use of drugs for infections or chemotherapeutic agents),
  2. atrophic vaginosis, caused by a lack of estrogens, related to the condition of the menopause,
  3. as an auxiliary during the use of hormone replacement therapy,
  4. if there is discharge of unknown origin in the vagina,
  5. in mild or moderate vaginal candidiasis,
  6. recurrent vaginal mycoses.

Gynoflor – contraindications

Some diseases and ailments preclude the use of the drug Gynoflor. In this case, they are:

  1. malignant tumors of the breast, uterus or vagina,
  2. vaginal bleeding of unknown origin
  3. acute and chronic liver diseases,
  4. hypersensitivity to any component of the drug,
  5. inflammation of the veins
  6. otosclerosis,
  7. endometrial hyperplasia,
  8. jaundice,
  9. porphyria,
  10. coronary artery disease.

The drug should not be applied in young girls before reaching puberty. Caution should be exercised when a woman is pregnant or suspects that she is pregnant. In the case of a confirmed pregnancy, the drug should be used applied only when the benefits to the mother outweigh the potential risks to the fetus. During the period of breastfeeding, the drug may be applied. If you experience breast pain or an increase in vaginal discharge, this may mean that your estrogen dose is too high.

Gynoflor – side effects

Lek Gynoflor may give during use symptoms slight pain or burning sensation in the vagina. Hypersensitivity reactions to the preparation components have been rarely observed. However, if hypersensitivity does occur, it usually becomes red and itchy.

Active substances contained in the drug Gynoflor are compatible with substances that are normally present in healthy women. When a woman is healthy, the natural environment in her vagina protects her against the development of pathogenic bacteria. Bow Gynoflor, the most important component of which are lactobacilli, helps to acidify the vaginal environment and thus prevent the development of pathogenic bacteria and microorganisms.

Also, damaged vaginal epithelium can lead to many unpleasant ailments. Gynoflor containing the active substance estriol helps to regenerate the vaginal epithelium, restore its proper thickness and blood circulation, and thus prevent the lack of proper hydration and elasticity.
