Gymnastics for children at the age of 8: for beginner girls and boys, exercises
Gymnastics for children at the age of 8 is a useful activity. You can spend it at home with your child. This will strengthen him not only physically, but also mentally.
At the age of 8, the child is already completely immersed in school life, he has rather heavy loads. Use gymnastics to help him deal with them. It will improve his posture, flexibility, coordination, strength and endurance. This simple workout is great for those kids who haven’t played sports until 8 years old.
Start any workout with a smooth warm-up and end with a cool-down. Include exercises for the arms, shoulders, legs, torso in the lesson. Also, be sure to include breathing exercises in your beginner workout. Try to select a variety of exercises that are performed from different starting positions, this will reinforce the child’s interest. Be sure to use music to make both you and him have more fun.
Exercise for girls and boys
Here are some basic exercises to include in your workout routine:
- Walking in place with high knees and a gradual increase in pace.
- U-turns of the trunk with a wide opening of the arms, with claps.
- Tilts of the head to the right-left, down-up, turns of the head to the sides, circular rotations of the head.
- Squats with legs shoulder-width apart. The first option – the feet are parallel, the second option – the socks are spread wide apart.
- Tilts of the body to the sides, tilts forward with hands touching the toes, light tilts back.
- High leg raises with claps under the knee.
- Jumping in place for 20-30 seconds.
- Sitting on a chair leg raises. Complicated option: raise your legs, put down, get up from the chair, sit down again and repeat.
- Swing your leg to the side, back and forth. You can hold onto the support.
- Rises to the toes and heels.
- Stretching with both hands up, arms alternately.
At 9-10 years old, you can complicate the exercises and transfer the child to rhythmic gymnastics, and after 10 to dance or athletic gymnastics. You can work with an eight-year-old kid on your own, and an older child should be sent to the appropriate sports section, where he will develop and improve his skills under the guidance of a professional trainer.
A physically developed child has stronger immunity, he gets sick much less often than his peers. Do gymnastics with your baby to keep him smart, strong and healthy.
