Guava syrup: 2 recipes at home

Sweet, tropical guava syrup is perfect for pancakes, waffles and a variety of drinks.

Also try pouring warmed guava syrup over vanilla ice cream. Or use the syrup as a dressing for a fresh fruit salad.

Classic Guava Syrup Recipe

Ingredients

  1. Guava – 8 pcs.

  2. Sugar – ½ cup

  3. Water – 4 glasses

  4. Vanilla – 1 stick

  5. Cinnamon – 1 stick

Method of preparation

  1. Remove skin from guava. Cut them in half crosswise and remove the seeds with a spoon.

  2. In a large saucepan, combine guava, sugar, water, vanilla, and cinnamon stick.

  3. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 15 minutes.

  4. Remove from heat and let syrup sit for 20 minutes.

  5. Strain your syrup through a sieve. Guava pulp can be used for cooking.

  6. Pour the syrup into a container with a tight lid. Keep refrigerated.

Guava honey syrup recipe

Ingredients

  1. Guava – 4 pcs.

  2. Water – 1 cup

  3. Honey – 1/3 cup

Method of preparation

  1. Wash the guava, cut in half and remove the seeds.

  2. Place the guava face down in a small saucepan along with one cup of water.

  3. Bring to a boil, reduce heat to low, and simmer for at least ten minutes. Cooking time depends on the size and thickness of the fruit. The goal is to keep them soft.

  4. As soon as they become soft, take them out of the water and put them in a sieve. Use a spoon to crush the juices.

  5. Collect all the guava juices and pour 1/4 – 1/3 cup of honey into it and mix.

  6. Add the mixture to a blender to make the syrup more homogeneous.

  7. Guava syrup is ready! The next day the taste is even better.
