Guajazyl tablets is an expectorant that is used for a moist cough. The active substance is guaifenesin. It increases the secretion of mucus in the respiratory tract, reducing its viscosity, which facilitates expectoration. Do not give the preparation to children under 3 years of age. The drug is in the form of tablets for oral administration and is available without a prescription.

Guajazyl tablets is an expectorant drug recommended for use in persistent cough.

Drug dosage

Guajazyl is in the form of tablets to be taken by mouth. Do not exceed the recommended dose of the drug as it may endanger your life or health. The capsules should be swallowed with a drink of water.

  1. Adults and children after the age of 12 300-400 mg 3-4 times / day.
  2. Children after 3 years of age 50-100 mg three times a day.

Guajazyl tablets – contraindications

Hypersensitivity to any component of the preparation is a contraindication to taking Guajazyl.

Guajazyl tablets – warnings

  1. If the cough persists for more than a week, is accompanied by fever, rash and persistent pain, please consult your doctor.
  2. Smokers, patients with bronchial asthma, chronic pneumonia and emphysema should take the drug only after consulting a doctor.
  3. Do not give this medicine to children under 3 years of age as there is no information on its safety.
  4. There are no data on the safety of taking the drug by pregnant and breastfeeding women (only after consulting a doctor and if absolutely necessary).
