Growing a lunaria flower

It is better to plant these plants in lighted areas, but with a little shading. In the bright sun, the flowers turn pale, in full shade they become smaller. Loose, breathable soil is suitable for a flower. Annual varieties are not picky about the quality of the soil, but before planting perennials, it is advisable to add 4 kg of humus per 1 sq. m plot. Fertilize the place in the fall, embed the fertilizer 20 cm deep into the soil. Sprinkle lime on the ground.

You can grow a flower from seeds. Bury the planting material in the ground at a distance of 30 cm from each other. Sow the seeds at the end of May, and transplant the seedlings to a permanent growing area in August. Plants will bloom in the spring of next year.

If you want to grow rare varieties, then sow seeds in pots in March. At the end of May, you can transplant seedlings into open ground. The plant will bloom in the same year.

Flower care:

  • water only in dry weather;
  • fertilize the plant from May to July 2 times a month, use complex mineral fertilizers or humus.

The flower does not need constant care and shelter for the winter. In late autumn, the soil around annual plants can be covered with peat. The flower is resistant to diseases and pests.

Lunaria brings good luck and financial well-being. If you put a few flowers in your wallet, then your material condition will improve. The plant can be used for flower arrangements and creating original bouquets.
