Grete Leitz, director of the Jacob Moreno Institute for Psychodrama, Sociometry and Group Therapy (Germany), has written a new book about psychodrama (about her book «Psychodrama. Theory and Practice», Cogito Center, 2007, see www.psychologies.ru). About a method that allows you to explore life situations, interpersonal and internal conflicts with the help of spontaneous play. Grete Leitz talks about the history of the method, about its fundamental categories and describes the psychodrama session in detail. She calls this group work a sensual, intuitive method (in contrast to traditional psychotherapy — intellectual, rational) and analyzes its effectiveness. At the same time, it relies on the data of modern neurobiology, semiotics and developmental psychology, which, of course, expands our understanding of the possibilities and mechanism of psychodrama, one of the most successful methods of group psychological assistance.
