Green beans are a variety of common beans that came to Poland from the warm countries of South and Central America. This plant does not occur in the wild in our country. Although it was brought here, it has not become a permanent fixture in our flora. However, it is cultivated successfully and Poles like it very much. And they have what it takes: the power of vitamins and elements necessary in the diet is found in green asparagus beans.

Green beans are one of the healthiest vegetables in the world. In addition to its health-promoting properties, Green Beans it also contains small amounts of calories – about 13-30 kcal per 100 grams. For this reason, it is recommended in a balanced diet for slimming people who need an “injection” of natural vitamins and micro- and macroelements.

Green beans contain large amounts dietary fiber – approx. 3g per 100 g. Thanks to this, the body faster absorbs fatsand the digestive system itself is stimulated to work faster and more efficiently. It has also been discovered that fiber may have an anti-cancer effect and reduces “bad” cholesterol.

  • Iron: necessary for the proper functioning of the body, it is part of many enzymes and proteins; Iron deficiency causes anemia
  • Magnesium: is responsible for many functions; helps in transmitting nerve impulses between neurons and is a component of bones

 

How to prepare green beans?

Green asparagus beans are prepared extremely simply and quickly. It only takes a few minutes to cook. The easiest recipe to cook beans is simply boiling it in salted water. Put the beans in cold water, rinsing them thoroughly beforehand. When the water starts to boil, cover the pot. When we feel that the beans have softened, we take it out and immediately serve it to eat. It tastes very good with fried breadcrumbs with butter. It can be added to many dishes: meat, salads or tastefully eaten alone with only small additions.
