Despite the fact that such a gooseberry was bred relatively recently, in the late 80s, it has already won the love of gardeners for its high yield, as well as ease of care.

This hybrid appeared thanks to the efforts of breeders from the All-Russian Technological Institute of Horticulture. The main difference between “rain” is large, spreading bushes with numerous shoots. Pear-shaped and oval-shaped berries. The color is light green, but as it ripens, the fruits acquire a yellowish tint. A special advantage of the variety is the size of the berries. They can be quite large, weighing 5-8 g. Another advantage of the culture is the thin skin of the fruit.

The main plus of culture is unpretentiousness and ease of care. To get a good harvest, you just need to periodically water and feed the crop, as well as weed the area near the bush. Cultivation without supports is allowed, although this reduces the yield of the crop. In addition, the variety is frost-resistant and there is no need to cover it for the winter.

The fruits have a pleasant, sweet taste and a pronounced aroma with a slight hint of honey.

Another advantage of the variety is its increased yield. When all agrotechnical measures are carried out, up to 5-6 kg of fruits can be collected from one bush. Berries appear on seedlings the next year after planting. The variety is very resistant to various fungal diseases such as anthracosis and spherotec. It perfectly tolerates both droughts and too high humidity. Therefore, it is recommended to plant it in central Russia.
