Green coffee beans: properties and features of the product
Green coffee is a new product that many are wary of. And rightly so: unroasted grains evoke little confidence and are similar to ordinary ones only in their rounded shape, size and longitudinal line. Green coffee lacks all other properties. There is no invigorating aroma, no familiar hardness, no beautiful dark shade.
Green coffee beans live up to their name in color, ranging from pale olive to grassy green. The product has some moisture to the touch. The aroma of the grains is not very pleasant, very rich, herbaceous. When brewing coffee from a “raw” product, you get a tart beverage with a sour taste and a slight astringent effect.
To get regular coffee, green beans go through an obligatory stage of preparation – roasting. During heat treatment, the level of caffeine rises in the product, for which many appreciate the invigorating drink. Green coffee contains little of it.
Green beans are not high in caffeine. However, studies have shown that valuing a product is for completely different qualities. The brewed drink will not give vivacity, but it will remarkably contribute to weight loss and get rid of subcutaneous fat deposits – cellulite.
These properties are given to green coffee by its unique composition: a high percentage of antioxidants, vitamins and active substances. The main “fighter” for a beautiful figure is chlorogenic acid. It is not present in the fried product: at high temperatures, it undergoes a decomposition process.
Chlorogenic acid begins to act in the intestines, breaking down fats that enter the body and preventing their absorption into the blood. Also, this substance helps the liver. In addition, trace minerals in green coffee can lower insulin. This contributes to the acceleration of metabolism and rapid weight loss.
Instructions for making a healthy drink
Making a drink from green coffee beans is not much different from brewing a regular one. For one cup you will need: – a turk; – coffee beans; – coffee grinder; – hot water.
Grind the coffee beans vigorously in a coffee grinder. Heat 100-150 ml of water in a Turk, without boiling. Add 2-4 teaspoons of prepared ground coffee. Reduce heat to almost low and simmer until the first sign of simmering. Remove the turk from the stove, cool the drink a little and strain if desired.
Some girls note that this drink is delicious both hot and cold. It not only fights extra pounds and reduces appetite, but also perfectly refreshes and quenches thirst.
Please note: you will achieve a greater “slimming” effect if you add ginger to green coffee. The preparation of the drink remains the same. Just at the preparation stage, mix the grated ginger with ground coffee in a 1: 2 ratio, respectively. Add the mixture to hot water and cook until the first sign of boiling.
You can “refine” green coffee not only with ginger, but also with other useful additives. For example, cloves, cinnamon, mint are popular. Decoctions from these spices must be prepared separately and added to the already brewed coffee
It is recommended to store green coffee in beans in a tightly closed container. It is better to grind a new portion before each use, as a last resort for a day. This way the product will retain its freshness, taste and effectiveness for a longer time.
Green coffee: effect and precautions
Green coffee is recognized as a very effective way to fight obesity. This is confirmed by both world studies and numerous reviews of girls who have tried the product. However, it is necessary to understand: for a positive result, an integrated approach is needed.
For faster weight loss, experts recommend revising your nutritional habits. Avoid very fatty, sweet, heavily fried foods. Also set aside time for light physical activity.
The recommended amount for a green bean drink is a maximum of three cups a day. The best moment is before any physical activity. For example, morning exercises, going to work. You can also use coffee instead of a snack or before meals to reduce your appetite. Following all the recommendations, you will miss at least 3 kg in a month.
Green coffee has a whole list of contraindications. For example, it should not be drunk with diarrhea, sore intestines, during pregnancy and lactation. The drink is prohibited for people with glaucoma, high blood pressure, osteoporosis, nervous system disorders, and taking sedatives.
Also, experts note: if you have chronic diseases, consult your doctor before adding a drink made from green coffee beans to your diet. This is especially true for diabetics. There is no consensus among physicians about the effect of green coffee on this disease, so each case must be considered individually. Also, people with kidney and heart disease may be at risk.
